Finally a Roy Makaay Interview

We have a really good thing going on here.
Good interview with MaKaay. What a player he was in his day. Gerrard leaving and this new management team has really worked in our favour, the players seem to be really buying into Gio and his staff. I was worried that the typical straight talking and direct Dutch personality trait may wind players up the wrong way, "Tricks are for the circus", but all the training ground footage shows great camaraderie between management and players.
Think of the incredible list of Coaches and Players Makaay and GVB worked with throughout their illustrious careers. They were absolute World Class Superstar players.

Rangers have landed them early in their Coaching careers and the impact they have clearly had is sure to only grow with time. Its a logical extension of the Gerrard arrival but its building on the great work he and his team have done so the potential is very exciting indeed.

Just think how it seemed like a mess as Gerrard left, yet its turning into what seems an absolute masterstroke by Rangers with this appointment.

The club had to really think and act fast with a colossal decision and appear to have hit the Bullseye.

His RTV interview along with that of Dave Vos and York Bosschaart are really good. Real top professionals coaching our players.

Theres a little bit of arrogance in there which I quite like
'I went to do the A license right away cause I got more than 40 caps for my country' Gio's team demands respect, I think in the same way as Gerrard's team did and it's great to see. I think the transition has been easier because we have been winning as well which helps the players buy in

Think he means he was allowed to skip straight to the A because he was an ex pro with international experience.

Great words from Makaay.

I getting the feeling this management team are going to be great for us.

Enjoyed that.

Btw what's with the 70s porn music the RTV guys are putting over these coach interviews.
Not sure but it seems to work well.

On Roy himself we instantly think of the Powerful Bayern side and the Dutch NT but was a serial winner everywhere he went and like the best strikers he made goalscoring look absolutely effortless.

Incredible he's now at Rangers passing on his expertise.

Said in another thread but Makaay is almost the perfect coach to get something out of Morelos. Proven as one of the best strikers in Europe, and had no fear of getting in the face of players. Playing right on the edge.

If Morelos didn’t already know exactly who he was, a quick look at some of his highlights would be enough to go “this guy knows what he’s talking about”.

Thersh a lota pretty girlsh in Holland. Love the Dutch/ English language. A lot of smiles during training looks like a lot of fun as well.

Great interview on RTV, along with Gio, another brilliant player who played at the highest level, can only be a good thing for our strikers too.

"To win titles you have to work hard. Talent is not enough. You need more than talent – hard work, dedication, helping each other."
