Do we all think that the first Old Firm game will be another matchday 9 or 10 again?

This gives the shettlestons a bit of time for Ange to gel them together before facing us.

Come 9am can we possibly cut out the "totally random computer" comments. It has never, ever been random or even sold as totally random.
Last season proved that, with the 1st OF game charade, it was a complete fix because they thought the longer they left the game the more chance there was if fans being present. Never worked then and won't work now :))

Season starts on 31st July

Rounds 1-11 & 23-33

Home - Aberdeen, Celtic Hearts, Hibs, Livingston Motherwell
Away - Dundee, Dundee United, Ross County St Johnstone, St Mirren

Rounds 12-22

Home - Dundee, Dundee United, Ross County St Johnstone, St Mirren
Away - Aberdeen, Celtic Hearts, Hibs, Livingston Motherwell

As it stands

Opening game mostly likely either Livingston or Motherwell at home on 31st July

Could play Celtic but unlikely
Hearts have a home game as Championship Champions
Aberdeen and Hibs play on the Thursday before and need to be the Sunday where we could playing on Tuesday 3rd August in our 1st CL qualifier so the fixture is 'blocked'

Dundee take 11th place fixture schedule - Kilmarnock
Hearts take 12th place fixture schedule - Hamilton

Their opening game most likely Hearts, Livingston or Motherwell away

If Livingston are in the bottom 6 we could have only one game on a plastic pitch this season?

Opposite, they won't want Ange in a full Ibrox. Earlier the better and less fans the better. Exact opposite to the stunt they unsuccessfully rigged last season

One thing is for certain, the first old firm game won't be the last round of fixtures this year. Incredible how a computer could spout that out for the first time in years.

Course it hasn’t, won’t stop the conspiracy theories though!

The order of home and away gets flipped from the season before, it’s just the actual order we play each team in that changes, but ultimately we have to play the same teams as everyone else, I genuinely couldn’t care who we play and when, we are better than them and need to prove it.

The game was played on one of 4 available date amazing what happens if you make a 'noise' like they did last year

Dundee at home please, noon kick off on Saturday. With celtic away to Livingston in the evening kick off the next day.

Should be the same as last season. Last possible fixture to give the best chance of a crowd. But we know it won't be.
I’m more interested in what gives us the best chance of winning. Early fixture means they are still flailing around trying to find players and a system that works. It might also be that an early fixture gives us the best chance of a bigger crowd. As we get to late Autumn and into Winter who’s to say we won’t be met by Nippy ranting about a fifth/sixth/seventh wave and imposing harsher restrictions again? Late August or early September might well be the optimum time on both counts.

We are at home first as the champions alway are.

Was there not an anomaly in 2016/17 which meant Celtic played away and we played at home first?

Hamilton rings a bell, Barton’s first game?

Nearly everyone gets this.

Can we stop pointing out the obvious.

The point is, there are elements that are supposed to have a certain amount of "randomness" and not fixed to benefit certain teams. Yet there have clearly been shenanigans eg the timing of the Old Firm last year. As RangerAl points out there were 4 possibilities for that game last year - that aspect should be somewhat random and down to chance. Instead the date that most benefits Celtic was picked. This is what people are talking about when they make the "random" comments. Not that they expect all 38 fixtures to be random.
