Frankfurt fans attacking before match

Don't know about their gimpy ultras, but we spent thr day with a squad of their supporters and they were magic. Proper sound. We have %^*& all in common but that didn't deter. Wish them all the best.

What I really don't understand is everyone and there dog seemed to know about this hardcore hooligan group of around 300 ultras that look for and cause trouble everywhere they go and at some point innocent Rangers fans would be attacked.

My point is, surely to f.uck the German authorities know personal details of this particular group and could have prevented, at the very least some of them from travelling?? Confiscate passports and make them sign in to police stations on the day of big matches there involved in?

Not entirely sure how it would work but just seems strange how they seem to be able to get away with it everywhere they go.

And btw fair play to the the bears who stood there ground against them.

My experience too mate. Had a few pints with a couple of lads in Madrid and they were saying how they hoped their ultras knocked it on the head as they were letting the club down. More or less same as you hear from our fans.

I love a lot of the Ultra scene but that lot are utter scum. Thing is, they knew exactly where Rangers fans were gathering yet attacked the smallest group they could find.

Seems to be plenty isolated incidents with these Frankfurt ultras with the common theme of them going after easy targets
Only surprise is the fat horse puncher and his crew weren't amongst them with those tactics
 
Can only speak for myself the Frankfurt fans I spoke with before and after the game were sound.

I was sitting in their end with my top on and they were fairly sound as well tbh. Wee bit of banter back and forwards but decent enough.

It's wild to me how they can be battling in the street 2mins away from me and I never seen or heard any of it.

Yep, all the fans of theirs that we met were good guys. It’s usually a small minority of idiots in any support.

I’m sure every ultra isn’t a hooligan and just they’re hard core who don’t mind the hangers on as it’s easier to hide in a crowd when it dies kick off

According to some on here we have to just sit and take a doing or sit and watch fellow Rangers fans be attacked and not help, just as long as we don't give the Scottish mhedia bad stories to write.

Shame that a few of them ruined it for the rest as I personally thought their fans were the best bunch of any I have encountered following Rangers. Great laugh with them in pubs before the game, spoke to a father and son that were just delighted to be at a final together (the son was 10). I was there with my old man so I know how great that must have been for them. If we were going to lose, I would rather have lost it to those fans than basically any other I have met.

Every time there’s a thread about football related violence he’s on telling everybody that anyone taking part is a coward or can’t fight.

To be honest I think it was more them randomly targeting small groups as they knew they were massively outnumbered , I don't know who the guy was I just hope he was fine .

We stopped at a pub on the way to the ground and none other than Derek Parlane stopped us and told as to be careful as there was a frankfurt mob attacking passers by.

We held off 10 mins and then went and all was fine.

Rangers fans just chucked chairs back to protect themselves. There was a Frankfurt fan in the pub I was in and he got hit by one of his own - that show how much these guys are idiots. The guy that got hit kept on apologising for his own fans.

20 arseholes can’t tarnish what was a very large and friendly travelling support

We were speaking to your mates and yourself afterwards while you were on the bench. Hope your feeling better and it’s not too bad of a cut. Got a police baton in the ribs once they showed up for having the cheek to be standing so close.

Really sinister the way the caption that comes up in the video that rangers fans have clashed with Frankfurt fans making it seem like we were the instigators absolute scum, no doubt we were just minding our business and that stream of ‘fans’ came looking for us c*nts thinking they are in the green street movie or something!

300 odd wee tadgers in the same get up, wee boys in face masks, hardly inconspicuous

300 team handed bottled it from a team of Rangers da‘s minding their own business having some pre match beers.

Whilst police were threatening us with batons for even attempting to cross the road for no other reason than they could.

Spanish police probably didn’t want to get involved with 300 hooligans and thought they would bully the normal supporters instead of doing what they are paid for.
