While most of the Rangers focus this week will be on the trip to face Sparta Prague, there's another big European match for the Ibrox club this week.

The B team, which is currently competing in the Lowland League, face a UEFAYouth League clash with Hammarby of Sweden.

The game will take place in Dumbarton on Tuesday with a 7.30pm kick-off.

Here's everything you need to know about the game.

What is the UEFA Youth League?

The competition is basically the Champions League for young players.

It's split into two sections, one for the teams which qualified for the group stages of the senior competition and one for the champions of the youth leagues of the top 32 associations.

How did Rangers qualify?

The Ibrox youths were champions of Scotland's Under-18 league last season.

They've therefore been placed into the domestic champions' path, which is straight knockout.

They face the first leg against Hammarby on Tuesday night, with the return leg on October 20 in Sweden.

They're the champions of the Swedish youth league, based in the capital Stockholm.

The club is partly owned by shy and retiring Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who owns a share of just under 25 per cent.

His acquisition was hugely controversial in Sweden.

Ibrahimovic grew up in Malmo's tough Rosengard estate and began his career with his hometown team.

Hammarby are Malmo's bitter rivals and a statue of the legendary striker was repeatedly defaced after he invested.

How good are the Rangers youths?

Both Rangers and Celtic have teams in the Lowland League this season.

It's the Ibrox club who are doing better, sitting four points behind leaders Bonnyrigg Rose with two games in hand.

However, there's no avenue for promotion for either colt team this season.

How can I watch the match?

UEFA broadcasting rules mean that the match cannot be shown on Rangers TV, so if you want to check out the game you'll have to attend in person.

It's at Dumbarton Stadium, with tickets priced at £7 for adults and £4 for concessions.

Who could Rangers face if they get through?

Should they progress it would be another two-legged tie for David McCallum and Brian Gilmour’s young side.

Potential opposition include Sparta Prague, who the senior side face in the Europa League and Red Star Belgrade.

Italian youth champions Empoli could also lie in wait, with the Tuscans' academy famed for producing the likes of Antonio Di Natale, Eusebio Di Francesco and Vincenzo Montella.

Should they progress past the second round they'd go into a play-off match against one of the runners-up from the Champions League path groups.

Take your pick of the big names in that one: Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are just same of the names involved.

Why is McKay still working for them. not been sacked by them or charged by the police?

The standard of writing in publications like this these days has massively downgraded in quality.

They are written with one sentence.

Then a break for the next sentence and so forth.

Very poor.

So the scum at the Record are going to sweep sweep the vile tweets from this bastard

Was he the one who wanted the IRA to visit Parkpaed when the Queen was arriving for the Commonwealth games and the guy who called the Prophet a Paedo ?

How is that not gross misconduct and probably a hate crime charge from PS

These cuunts are going to ignore those vile tweets

Also the prick doesn’t even have up-to-date info on the 2nd leg if we get passed Hammerby and we have to rely on official Rangers fan media to keep the fans updated with accurate detail

Sums up the lack of quality that the Record feel are good enough for employment. The Record and Reach are a disgrace for not sacking this reptile

It’s great to see the Daily Rhebel don’t see open, full throated support of an ascribed terrorist group who murdered many Scots including servicemen as a hindrance to having a job as a football correspondent in Scottish

15 year old Rory Wilson on the bench tonight, that’s outstanding. Teams a bit weakened, but should still have enough about them.

3–1 young bears

Written by Gabriel McKay? The one who thinks Muslims are peados and called for the Ira to bomb the Queen in a Scottish stadium? I thought for sure he would be canned, if he’s survived the purge then they all will

Thanks to the info on here, and no longer having BT sports, I took in the game tonight.
It's close by, I live in Alexandria, so jumped the train.
Most enjoyable.
Will definitely attend again.
MacCausland's goals were worth it. Great performance by the young bears.
UB's (Vale Chapter) were well on song.
First visit for me. Not my last.
