Not sure if serious about Amo and Ross was a member of a flute band but not an Orangeman.

George Young.

Non Rangers that most folk don’t know about, is George Best. His old man was massively involved with the Orange Order.
in his autobiography George told about the excitement as a kid when the lodge left from his house the year his dad was the master of the lodge.
I think he mentioned he was in the junior orange .

Off topic a little bit I think Bertie Peacock may have been an Orangeman when he played with that mhob.

Bit of an Urban Myth, Bertie Peacock was not in the Orange Order

Not sure about the DJ claim. I remember reading an article on him many years ago when it was said he was born in Dundee and had cousins from the Dundee Irish catholic community.

Yes Bertie Peacock was definitely in the Orange probably Co.Londonderry district as he came from Coleraine.

Billy Simpson was apparently a member of LOL 162 Glasgow. Would be shocked if he wasn’t a member in his younger days of one of the OO lodges in the Donegall Road/ Sandy Row area

Reformation truth defenders page on Facebook has been sharing ex players who were members lately mate.

Billy Simpson and James Forrest were two mentioned along with ex vice chairman Jack Gillespie
I never knew that about Jack. His daughter went to the same Church as me and I met him a few times. Always a yarn about the Famous though.

I would like to read his autobiography. I can imagine it’ll be a fantastic read.

Always wondered the extent of George Best "staunchness".

Remember he was on Wogan, may years ago, and he was absolutely blootered, uncomfortable viewing, for Wogan too

Wogan made a comment along the lines of or including "us Irish"
Best, "I'm not Irish , Terry"

I think it may have been called Blessed.
The ghost writer and George decided it would be warts and all .
No apologies but no bullshit.

I’d recommend it.
I’m definitely going to check it out. Cheers for heads up about it.
