Get the boys home and parading that trophy at half time tomorrow

Hope so. Dunno about you, but I dream of Rangers future success being built on modest and wise spend on top of home grown talent. A centre of sporting excellence, where short termism is a thing of the past. These kids should have a lasting tribute to their achievement (even if it's just a small corner of wall) reserved somewhere in the new academy facility and/or HTC for future youth squads to aspire to and try to emulate.

Yes, I'd love that too but I'm also aware of the reality of the situation when it comes to youth football. Most of these kids who won that tournament will struggle to make it as professional footballers never mind first team rangers players.

Aston Villa won the Next-gen tournament, a precursor to the UEFA youth league, about 5 years ago. It had 24 of the best youth teams in Europe in it and was played at U19, two years above the one our kids have won, with far more mature and developed players.

The players in that side are now 22/23 and literally one of them is playing at a decent level for Villa in the championship. The rest are working real jobs or scrabbling around the lower leagues or non-league level.

Results in these tournaments don't really mean much at all for the elite senior game, because only a handful of the participants make it at the top level, that's the reality.

If nothing else, it's good to dream.

Is it just me who thinks people on here are getting a wee bit carried away about a youth tournament?
Yes, this has given such a buzz. Let's be positive for a change.
Boys being picked up and taken straight to Ibrox for half time tomorrow.

Of course the step from U17 to first team is huge and we can expect that most of the young hero's will not make a 1st team career. But, can we not just enjoy the fact that our boys, mostly at the bottom of the age group did themselves and the club more than proud. Winning the tournament, 2 of the 5 individual tournament awards. Pretty special.

Odds of first team regulars is small but can we not just agree slightly higher with this bunch.

I also watched Kai Kennedy make fun of Celtic in last year's Glasgow cup so surely we have some grounds to be optimistic?

Well done, crack on, lets see how many .... ( i hope the use of the ellipse is officially sanctioned)

At the school play with his child who outshines everyone. I can understand the plaudits for my offspring but statistically they are unlikely to reach the heights of the local soap opera yet alone Hollywood. FFS mate live in the moment. The families and the boys will be sky high, the future is still unwritten, let it remain so.

I believe they have commitments well according to commentary they other day they won’t leave till Monday so Wednesday night on the pitch, the boys deserve our support and it is a fabulous achievement.

It shows the youth set up is working and also gets the clubs name back into the spotlight (in a huge positive way). Don't see much wrong with that. So lighten up and SMILE

Fs, do you act

Fs, do you actually sleep under a wet blanket? The young bears did themselves and the club proud, at least try and be happy for them.
