I also should say that he’s played well for a number of seasons and not missed games with injury. last season he was an absolute colossus. So, he’s already been value for money

is he leaves for nothing, that’s business. if we wanted him for longer at an affordable price, we would have had to take a risk at signing and given him more years.

But there’s no guarantee we’d be in it past the qualifiers. This years attempt went awry and it’s glaringly obvious we need to spend to realistically compete. If Goldson and Kamara go for free who are we selling to fund it? Kent and Alfie? Then they have to be replaced out that money. I really think this will be Gerrard’s last season.

If we win the league we are straight in.
