He's got worse and he's still got another 2 years left on his deal but with no resale value.

EL Final typified Goldson's Ranger's career. Some good performances which generally outweigh the bad but the bad often happens in the biggest of games.

He’s our best centre half by default, it isn’t really much of an achievement given our current state.
And his odd mistakes are really starting to tote up now, he’s been at fault a few times this season, most notably in our biggest game where he gifted a goal to that lot.
He's good for at least one goal conceding mistake every game and that's not normal for a top centre half.
We have to aspire to better and needs to be cleared out along with Tav after this season. Time to rip the bandaid off.

Collectively these players are not good enough to be successful - we've quite a bit of evidence now. The hope has been (from a lot of fans and now a lot of managers) that you could keep a core of them, that they are good enough for success if you build better players around them. Again we have plenty of evidence to say that is not the case and a new manager needs to see that. Goldson is definitely in that group.
One issue we've always had is that although we may feel we need 'upgrades', we have absolutely no confidence in our recruitment team to do that and therefore want the likes of Goldson's contract renewed through fear they will actually bring in worse - again it feels like we have evidence that backs that up with this season's recruitment.

Is he really our best defender? What is the definition of defending?
Does he get most touches of the ball - yes only because it is drummed into everybody to pass it back to him.
Is he dominant in the box- no
Is he clumsy in the box- yes
Does he have pace- not really
Can he clear the ball under pressure - no
Does he blame everybody around him- yes

We have our main centre back who has clearly retired from heading. Ducks rather than wins.
Our left back is the ultimate shit bag. Never seen a tackle come in from the son of a Croatian gangster. Absolute pussy.
Any team looking at us knows attacking Tav will beat him and just cut it back, and Goldson will miss it on his left.

Is and has always been sub standard and simply not good enough for Rangers. He, like Beale, was lauded by the vast majority of Rangers supporters when his contract was announced, should have been thanked for his efforts when it expired and wished all the best for the future.

Where the hell do you find 30m walking out the door? Kent and Morelos wouldn't have recouped 10% of that based on their performances in the last 18 months of their time at the club.

Morelos - not sold at the right time when the Lille offer came in. Allowed to leave as opposed to taking £16m in.
Kent - we had offers, not sold / not given a renewed deal when he should’ve had one. Not sold when Leeds had offered 6-7m for him.
Kamara - not sold at the right time - we lose a fortune on him, goes for half what he was worth.
Aribo - not sold at the right time / not given a renewed deal when he should have had one.
So you’ve lost 23m between Kent and Morelos, and there’s easily another 7m in the other 2 based on what they were sold for against what they were worth 12-18month prior.
We don’t sell at the right time.
We don’t retain the right players.
We offer deals to the same losers.

We didn't sell them because we thought they would be more valuable playing. In hindsight that was the wrong deciding but if they'd been sold earlier and replaced with players that were like those we bought this summer, we'd have threads full of criticism of the board for being more interested in money that the team. There is often no right time to sell a player.
