Hamza Igamane

The guy could turn out to be an absolute snip at the money we paid for him. His ceiling is certainly high.
Absolutely he could mate and I would start him over Dessers every day, but my point was more about the start of the season. We had a very limited budget and we spent money on a lad who couldn’t get near the team. Not entirely his fault definitely, but I don’t think the whole situation was handled well.

I think for the first time in a long time at the start of this season we weren’t just planning for the next couple of games.

And that’s a good thing.

Yeah hopefully mate. But you can’t say at the same time it’s not hurt us in the short term. I like Igamane, and glad he’s here, but not signing a player to one in and replace Dessers has hurt us either way.

I don’t care if he’s a young boy or raw describe it whatever way you want he’s never ever gonna be good enough for Rangers
What was the line Clement used on his signing “we had to buy him now as we couldn’t afford him in 12 months”

I’ve never heard as much pish in my life Maryhill juniors wouldn’t play him
I will just leave this here...

I thought the same with the young Man Utd guy we had on loan Amad Diallo, but he came good at the end of his spell with us and seems to be kicking right on down at Manchester now as well.
Man u are a Mid table team, he won't be there if/when they get back to the top

He's a tidy player, don't get me wrong, but put him back in the spfl right now and he wouldn't cut it

He's young, raw, doesn't speak the language. Give the boy a chance ferfuxxake. There was an attack where he made a poor pass trying to find a team mate and McCoist said it was 'lazy' which is exactly what I thought too.
Perhaps a loan to Motherwell or another SPL club would be beneficial for him and us as he is still very much a project.

Last night, at times, he looked an unbelievable prospect.

Before that, at times, he has looked completely lost.

Let’s stick to the facts. Doesn’t need to be a big conspiracy. No one needs to cry on the internet because some fans said a bad word about a player.

Likewise nobody needs to cry on the internet because they’ve been called out for talking dog shite.

Works both ways

Just once, reserved specifically for your 'poor version of Egil Ostenstad' and 'less mobile Jon Daly'.
Will still reserve judgement. As I said to someone else, who must have trawled through the posts, I genuinely hope I am proven wrong. Only time will tell.

Looks like a good footballer. Seems to position himself deeper than you'd want from a number 9. High & shambolic line from Nice played right into his hands. Plenty to work on because hes unlikely to be as effective domestically with that positioning. Can learn though. Exciting option.

Felt he was a little too casual at times and that he could have had more goals/chances if he was more aware of his position. That can be learned though. Hoping he starts on Sunday (or Danilo).

We have to invest in potential. If Igmane had another season at the level he was at and did well we would not be able to afford him.

So yes he has work to do and lots to learn. But he shows potential. This is the reality of where we are, we have to support and watch him improve. It will be frustrating at times and we need to just stick with it.

Held my tongue earlier in the week when the lad was getting pelters from the majority. It's actually laughable that when the pile on starts, some folk see it as a challenge to come up with the most stupidly outrageous comments to show how much they don't rate him ("wouldn't get a game for Maryhill juniors" ffs...). All this based on probably less that 5 whole games worth of minutes on the park...

Good performance from Hamza last night, delighted for him and hoping he really kicks on from here. There is plenty there to work with and develop, polish the rough edges and give him some increased game time and we could have a real asset on out hands. If that was a young Moroccan lad playing against us last night who Nice picked up for less than 2 mil yet scores a brilliantly composed double, guarantee we'd all be giving it "how can our scouting department not identify players like that?".

Lad arrived with an injury, first time in Europe and didn't speak a word of English. If ever there was a player we need to show a bit of patience with, it's him. And we might just be rewarded if we do...

I think he has been rotten in most of his appearances til last night but I totally agree. If the option is between Igamane, at 1.5m and just turned 22, or Dessers, at 4m and almost 30, it's an absolute no brainer. One will improve, one will not.

He's played 2 and a half games in minutes for us domestically think he may deserve a bit more time to show what he can do.
Hence why I said criticism of the move. Our next game will be in December and what was our main summer signing has played 2 and a half games.

Again brilliant last night but when we needed a starter.

That kind of short term thinking is the reason why we have been left with players we can’t get rid of.
“Criticism of the move”

He may end up being a star. But we are going into December and our main summer signing hasn’t started 2 games in a row was my point

Manager has to start Igamane on Sunday

He needs to start scoring in the league as we need alternatives to Dessers

Whether Igamane can score regularly in Scotland is to be seen

He wasn't a main signing in the summer at all with Danilo and Dessers albeit we were trying to move Dessers on. Since his debut at the Piggery only league game he's not played in was Hearts. He needs to get more minutes and go on a run of games to be properly judged not 10-15 minutes here or there. The 2 games he started he did look a bit lost in but he deserves far more time to be judged.

He was signed to be 3rd choice this year behind Danilo and Dessers with a view to developing him.

Its pretty much exactly whats happening. Inventing a nonsense to justify your criticism is bizarre

The boy had a good game last night. He has more to offer. If we take our time with him, he could go on to get better. I certainly won't batter him. Hopefully starts to get more game time domestically. We need a bit of good news and he is it in my opinion.

Quite clearly has the ability. It's about finding the consistency

As a fan base though we are far far too quick to judge. I seen enough last night to know why he was signed, let's just hope he can kick on from here.

There was always going to be an adaption issue with someone so young coming into rangers and leaving his home country and dare I say it with the current atmosphere. Can't be an easy environment to operate in and maybe we are a big part of the problem at times
