Harry Redknapp on Bournemouth job being bigger than Gers job

Redknapp said: “I love Ally McCoist to bits and he’s dead right when he says Jamie must have been drinking when he came away with that statement.

“Let’s face it, he can’t have been serious and that’s coming from someone who has a lot of affection for Bournemouth

“Bournemouth hadn’t even been in the second tier for the first 88 years of their existence. They were a Division Three or Four team and I was the first man to get them into what is now the Championship and that was regarded as a miracle.

“Eddie Howe then got them into the Premier League which is a miracle but when I was there we used to get 2000 and 3000 people so to say they’re bigger than Glasgow Rangers, one of the biggest football clubs in the world…

“I worked in America and Rangers came on tour and the place was mobbed. They had fans coming from Canada and all over to watch them. They’re a massive club.

“Honestly, people don’t realise how massive Rangers and Celtic are. If you go anywhere in the world you will find people who support Rangers and Celtic

“Jamie’s a great lad and I like him a lot but he must have been having a wind-up. He must have been trying to cause a bit of controversy because he can’t have been serious.

“I heard him saying it and I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I was laughing out loud. Ally’s response was great. Bournemouth’s stadium holds 11,000 so Jamie has clearly never been to Ibrox!”

Redknapp counts many former England internationals who signed for Gers among his friends in football as well as Graeme Souness who sparked a revolution at Ibrox in 1986.

And he said: “Talk to any of the English boys who played at Rangers and they’ll soon tell you about the size of them

“Terry Hurlock raves about Rangers and I play golf with Graeme Souness. Can you imagine what he’d say about Jamie’s claim?

“I’m sure a lot of people in England do genuinely think like Jamie but they don’t understand how massive Rangers is.

“They should go to an Old Firm game and they’ll soon find out.

“I’ve so much respect for Scottish football because in my era every successful club in England was full of players from north of the border.

I'll take Harry's word for it over that wee prick Jamie O'Hara any day..

We should be detaching from anything mhankie oriented, they don't need us remember, nail us to the floor they said. When everything is out in the open and world respected Rangers are back, look out the rest. Steven Gerrard and Harry Redknapp know the score.

Mr O'Hara is a clueless twat.

Someone that thinks its acceptable to punch minors in the face doesn't deserve any respect.

Nice words when he didn’t have to, good to see our club and image being promoted and a few home truths being shared!

Big Arry , the closet bear. Love the guy. Btw if the magnificent bastard was on the wee turd tunnel would have been picking his teeth up off the floor.

I listen to TS most mornings when driving and Jamie O’Hara was clearly joking and he called in the following day to laugh about it with Ally. He said he agree rangers were a bigger club but he said trying to get promotion to the PL is a bigger job than trying to win the SPL.

I realise Talkspirt is all about provoking debates amongst its hosts and viewers.
But that particular topic is so far off the mark,O’Hara must be slightly embarrassed.
Well said Harry btw.

i wonder if harry would come to Ibrox as a financial adviser :))
:))
If Harry’s not available then his “wealth off the radar” dog would do a good job. There’s, as yet unsubstantiated, rumours it funded the acquisition of Roofe and Itten.

Surprised phil hasn't claimed something like that is actually happening. He must be running out of ideas in finding ways to get money off the bheggars

I appreciate Redknapp taking the time to state the obvious, but in truth it didn’t really need to be said.

Put it this way, are any of us in the least bit perturbed at the thought of Gerrard being tempted away from Ibrox by this huge gig on the south coast?

Harry Redknapp knows his football, unlike Jamie "everyone's shagged my missus" O'hara.
Cant believe the guy shows his face in public after that, unreal. Imagine marrying a slapper half your work had slept with, and half your mates work, and half his mates mates work. Imagine. Knowing that.

And of course as soon as the big contract he had at Spurs finished she ditched him.

Tells you everything you need to know about the boy, clearly not all there.
