Has sturgeon given the go ahead yet?

Doncaster was using this an excuse for not ending the season just now.

He failed to mention that the reason the fisher price Parliament didn’t accept that request was they were not asked in the first place.

I’d find it hilarious if they did knock back the 1st of Aug, just make us look even more tinpot than we currently are....

Pretty sure that its part of Phase 2 which has just started but the government is going to stagger what is introduced rather than all of Phase 2 easing being in place now. I think we're still just working towards 1st August, I've not seen that confirmed (and can't remember any easing of lockdown measures being confirmed 4 weeks in advance)

As everyone knows the first game with fans will be scheduled for us going to saville row. They will want to make a big thing of it ensuring media from everywhere covering the Great Return of Fans occasion at the stadium of blight with all the lowlife scotshit politicians attending with their green and grey celtic shite on view, The chamber of secrets will be busy with friends of the cover up making plans for the future

I’d understood it to be the 1st aug is scheduled with government having the right to delay that if they feel the need .

She’s admitted she hates football so we’ll be the last to be allowed to meet in large groups.

She's always two steps behind Boris, trying to be clever, get on the front foot and make a decision by yourself ye auld despicable boot.

Don't think you're too far off the mark here BS.

Doncaster was on sky yesterday saying clubs can’t even play friendlies as yet

No permission has been granted for BCD friendlies on Scottish soil as yet.

No team will have satisfactory match fitness by 1st August (if even that gets confirmed as a start date by the Scottish Government)

Hibs await green light for St Mirren bounce game at East Mains ahead of proposed season start
The Buddies have tabled plans for the pre-season match at the Hibernian Training Centre.

Hibernian will find out later this week whether they will be able to host a behind closed door bounce-game against Premiership rivals St Mirren.

The Easter Road side have offered to hold the pre-season clash at their East Mains training facility this Saturday, but will only be allowed to do so if the match is approved by the Scottish Government in line with COVID-19 restrictions.

I assume we are in the same boat with our intended game against Hamilton.

Celtic and Rangers sweat over French friendlies as clubs face ticking clock 'shambles'
Approval has still not been granted for travel or closed door friendlies.

Scottish football’s hopes of getting up and running behind closed doors as soon as this weekend have been left hanging in the balance again.

Record Sport understands a number of pre-season friendlies have been arranged between top flight clubs - with Rangers hoping to host Hamilton at their Auchenhowie training base on Friday.

New Dundee United boss Micky Mellon is also scheduled to begin his reign at Tannadice with a bounce game against Motherwell on Saturday.

But those plans remained up in the air last night as the SPFL continued to wait for government approval for matches to recommence.

Celtic have escaped over the border to set up a training base at Loughborough University but, along with Old Firm rivals Rangers, are also waiting for the First Minister Nicola Sturgeon to give the go ahead for international travel which would allow both clubs to travel to France to take part in a mini tournament with Lyon and Nice without having to place players in a period of self isolation.

Celtic are also set to play against Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes on July 21, but that is due to be played behind closed doors.

However, that will all hinge on the FM aligning Scotland with Downing Street’s plans to introducing air bridges with a number of specified countries across Europe.

Sturgeon insisted at yesterday’s daily briefing that she will not simply rubber-stamp UK Government proposals to allow quarantine-free travel.

It is widely expected that she will give travel to and from France the all clear on Thursday when she announces a further relaxation to the coronavirus lockdown.

And that would allow Glasgow’s big two to get back down to business across the Channel.

But the rest of Scotland’s top flight is still waiting to be told when they will be allowed to get the ball out again after another day of deadlock yesterday.

It had been expected that football would be given the green light to return behind closed doors after further talks between Holyrood and the game’s authorities.

But, after no agreement was reached, clubs have been left sweating over whether or not they’ll be able to press ahead with their pre-season plans this weekend.

One top flight club told us last night: “The clock is ticking and we are all looking for a bit of clarity. The season is supposed to begin in just over three weeks from now but that’s still to be given the government’s blessing.

Just reading we are due to play Hamilton BCD on Friday so I guess we must have been given the go ahead.

Looks like shielding is stopping on Friday instead of 31st July - a sign that things might move forward quicker?

Her french bint will insist on it

She is procrastinating on behalf of the mentally challengeds. It’s an immutable fact that washing kills the COVID-19 virus.

I'm no fan of Sturgeon, but I don't think she gives a %^*& about football. She's been careful to appear more cautious than Boris. I don't think this is her style. Why do something that risks getting you criticised, when as much as we may hate it, she's flying high in the media just now.

If your in her shoes it makes more sense to start fans with a more low profile game (so if it goes tits up it's less in peoples conscious). Mind you that may be before the Old Firm game.

Don't trust her or any of her snp members. Her husband of convenience is a hibs fan,so he is very capable of poisoning her mind along with all the lowlife round about her at holyrood and beyond.
celtic have plenty of sympathisers in her circles so don't be surprised if the first game with fans is us v them at saville row. They crave the limelight and usually get what they want. Don't trust any of them.

Until theres a vaccine, its a fluid situation, it has to be. If football gets the go ahead they will have to be prepared to stop just as quick. All it will take will be a player or two coming down with it and its curtains. What the current thinking of the Players Union, anyone know ?

It’s no different to other leagues, the odd player has tested positive, they are then told to isolate for 7 days. All other players are tested , if they are negative then it’s as you were.

So far none of the other leagues which restarted have had any major issues at all.

Footballs been started for a few weeks now all over europe. They wont shut the thing down if a player or 2 catches it.

We can now fly to France to play football but still don't have permission for BCD friendlies on Scottish soil. A farce that is.

Rangers and Celtic given pre-season all clear as Nicola Sturgeon approves crucial France air bridge
The clubs had been sweating on whether the First Minister would rubber stamp plans to allow travel to other countries.

Celtic and Rangers will be able to travel to France for pre-season friendlies after a key Scottish Government announcement on Wednesday.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has approved travel to 57 countries without the need to self-isolate upon a return to Scotland.

France, the destination for friendlies planned by both clubs, is included in the list of "air bridges" - meaning the Glasgow sides can travel without the threat of quarantine when they arrive back in Scotland for the new season.

Rangers are set to take part in matches against Lyon and Nice at the former team's Groupama Stadium.

Celtic will also take on both of those sides before travelling to the French capital to face Paris Saint-Germain.

On Tuesday both clubs were in a state of limbo with no official confirmation of whether they could head across the Channel next week.

Despite the announcement, clarification is still required as to whether Scottish clubs can play in inter-club bounce games yet.

A representative of a Scottish Premiership club told Record Sport that the situation was a "shambles" as they had no idea if friendlies could take place within Scottish football.
