Hastie to Hearts?

How's about Hastie to Rangers. Why the %^*& did we buy him if he can't get a chance with us. If we keep loaning him out to develop and get game time by the time he's deemed good enough his contract will be up

Cheap punt but he clearly isn’t good enough

The Hastie Heart! (A pun for the old timers on here).
Ok I will take the bait :) is he joining Richard Todd and Ronald Reagan in a remake?

Seriously bring the guy into the fold and see what he can do, he cannot be any worse than some of the imposters who let us down last season.

I said on the Motherwell loan bid for him thread to send him to hearts instead of those cu*ts.They’ve lifted it from here.haha

Thats what seems to happen to us nowadays.
Every purchase of a player should now be scrutinised.

Said it before, the process by which Rangers identify and seek to sign young, emerging talent, seems hopelessy flawed. It doesn't matter if we make a small profit by selling him - that isn't the point. The point is that someone or other felt that whilst at Motherwell Hastie showed sufficient potential to justify bringing him to Ibrox, and it wasn't 'an impulse-buy' as someone said.

Yet after a brief loan spell at Rotherham and a few cameo appearances off the bench back at Rangers, is it possible that the club have now written him off? If true, then serious questions need to asked of those in charge of scouting and player development at Ibrox.

Waste of time signing him imo.

If hes not chomping at the bit and ready for us now at his age will he ever be?

Yes and no

Its part of our business model now get these players for free, cheaply or from academy put out on loan and sell or if they do really well keep them

Take hastie worst case he is on 5 k a week so 260k a year in wages

Loan him out with wages covered he gets game time and face ace noticed or better

Potentially sell for 500k to 1mil make a profit they will have a number in mind for all the players in similar situation.

The club will budget for making a loss on 2-3 of these players but plan to make it back from 1-2 good sales.

Its a business model nothing more sometimes we will get lucky like with Alfie

Wherever he goes, I hope its to another Prem team. See if he can cut it still and hope he will have extra motivation to do some damage to the scum when he plays against them.

It needs to get better thats for sure.
The law of averages means all will not work out but there are far too many for my liking.

Hearts next season would have some benefits despite the chronic standard of that league.

He would be playing in a team expected to win every game against teams who set-out to stifle, with home games at a decent stadium.

I would prefer him to go to Hearts as well. Or another Premiership club.

Sending him back to Motherwell is simply putting him back in his comfort zone.

Hastie might have looked to have potential at 'well but in his few outings for us, and apart from a promising start to his loan spell down South, he has completely failed to impress. The fact that we might be willing to sell the lad already, and at a loss, tells you all you need to know.

It would be a good move for him, especially if it is in the championship and they are under pressure to win every game

Not the worst move for the boy, would like to see him get a chance with us but its probably clear he's not ready yet.

Sign young player from SPL rival. No-where near your own first team, loan him out for 3 seasons in a row to high level SPL to develop. Comes back and is now their first name on team sheet.

I'm not saying this will happen with Hastie... But let's not be too Hastie in judging him or the model of loaning out to SPL rivals. One of the reasons (in addition to bribary) that celtic get so much good will from rivals in the SPL is because they have been loaning their dross to them over the years and getting good will in their dressing rooms. Can't Hurst for us to do the same.

Don't be silly.

He was a cheap punt. He may still develop like Christie did at Celtic following several loan spells. Or we may decide that it hasn't worked out. This is exactly what we should be doing. It's like signing Andy Robertson from Queens Park rather than trying to sign him from Liverpool.
