There's a good few of us on here who knew how good this guy was after his first season with us. Others then quickly changed their minds after the odd mistake here and there from him, to the point they became quite vitriolic and and scathing towards him.
I often find that certain posters re-write history with Tav, claiming that he cost us a certain game or that he made "hunners" of mistakes.
It was a particularly difficult time trying to defend him and debate with posters who wouldn't see it any other way. Halliday and many other ex pros talk about the fact that what he gives the team in an attacking sense, significantly outweighs any mistake he ever made that cost us a goal and I've never quite understood why some folk don't get that.
I'm just glad he's now showing what a number of us have known for years, that we have the best right back in the country and a player who has easily been our best player consistently for five years now.
Cannot wait to the day he lifts 55.
