How many of the 32 CL Group Stage teams would we beat in a 2 legged tie?

There are sides in there we'd definitely beat over 2 legs but there are some absolutely wild shouts in here. Atalanta and Monchengladbach for example.

Gladbach, Ajax and Man Utd would be favourites over 2 legs against us but I wouldn’t put it past us to then then over.

We could beat quite a lot of them but the important thing now is we wouldn't fear any of them.

We might not win against your Bayerns, Juventus etc but they'd know they were in a game after it

Few folk getting a wee bit carried away.

we are making steady progress on a yearly basis, we won 1out of 6 Europa League games two seasons ago, two out of six last season and have 2 out of 4 so far this season. So 5 wins out 16 yet we are going out to beat half of this years Champions League teams.

I'd give us a chance against half of them. Next year if we can qualify for it, you'd be looking to finish 3rd in the group, obviously any higher is great.

Had a look at the list and I reckon we would get the better of 14 of them.

The ones with an asterix.

The Spanish, German and Italians along with PSG would be a problem for us.I believe we would put up a good show against the English teams. The rest I think are beatable.

I saw Liverpool at the weekend and on that form we'd have a chance against them.

Realistically though Id say

Atalanta, Rennes, Lokomotiv Moscow, Krasnodar, Dynamo Kiev, Porto, Brugge, Başakşehir, Midtjylland, Olimpiacos, Ferencvaros, Salzburg and possibly Borussia Mönchengladbach.

With Mr Gerrard and his team in charge I would have confidence facing anyone these days!

A few, but not as many as some are suggesting. Gladbach for instance are as good as Leverkusen were last year. Thuram and Plea upront are absolutely quality.

Shows you how far we have come that you consider Leipzig beatable. It would be very tough but we would have a chance, however when we played them in that friendly it was man against boys.

Totally mate, would be a great game I reckon. We've came so far, our reputation across Europe now as well has got to be fantastic

Remember not so long ago the thread about where we would finish in EPL and quite a few posters said last.:))

Dont know about CL(couldnt name players from most sides) but it is the level a club like Rangers should and hopefully soon we back at. First game back in the sections at Ibrox will be amazing no matter who it is.

Got to love a competition where a team can finish 3rd or 4th in their domestic league and miles behind the winners, then finish 2nd in the tournament group stage and still go on to be champions of Europe or at least in the final.

Again, what relevance does that have?

It is a question based on our European form of the last 3 seasons.

Nothing else.
A lot of relevance because we have won nothing yet.

To play along it would all depend on the group we got.

There are only a handful of teams there I would give us little to no chance of beating.
Outside that at the very least we’d give everyone a game and I’d probably make us favourites to be beat around 10 of those teams.

Feels good looking at that table as that is where we need to be aiming to be this time next year. No reason to be afraid of taking that on

I think we would be lucky to beat 7 or 8 of them over 2 legs. Champions league and Europa league the gulf in class is huge.

That’s a very fair and balanced assessment I think. Couldn’t say that even three years ago.

Over 2 legs I'd fancy at crack at any of them and think we would give all bar 6 or 7 a good game

SSBlue has done the hard work and I can't disagree.

Give us a full squad/Ibrox and I'd give us a chance at most.

I would say 3-4 and 55/50 with maybe another 4. Yeah we beat Porto biut sometimes the big guns don’t put as much into the EL rather than CL

Sorry to bump this, was actually looking for the mental thread comparing this squad with Smith’s Euro Teams. The only comparison now is Gerrard has now joined the group of managers who have had some of our worst exits in Europe.

The stark reality on the basis of they two games is we are miles off it, last night has set us back as many years if not more than we had progressed.

One draw Three defeats in our last 4 European games.

Three clean sheets out our last 13 Euro games.

The Rangers team of 9 months ago would have cruised past malmo and ludogrets with a bit to spare. The team that we've seen since this season has started is so far off the team of last season that its scary. We've not weakened the squad and if anything, sakala at least has strengthened it and improved our options. Somethings wrong imo.
