Ibrox is further north than the Piggery

Sutherland at the northern tip of the UK mainland means South land (having been named by the vikings who came from the north).
Conversely, Northton lies at the southern tip of the Isle of Harris (having been part of the parish of the island of Berneray to the south).
 
The Republic of Ireland is further north than Northern Ireland

This is the sort of one your brain says no way is Dublin further north than NI. Then you read again and realise it just means a part of ROI and seems pretty obvious then.
 
Had to look at this for an obscure reason and I was quite surprised.

Ibrox is actually slightly further north than Sharkheid

Must be the river which makes it feel differently

Got to be a great question for winning a few bob in the pub!
On avarage Barcelona has less sunlight than Glasgow.
 
Was told once that Glasgow is further North than Edinburgh but just checked a map there and it does not look like it. Any one confirm?
(Not sure if you go by boundary or main central post office)
 
Hamilton is further south than the northern most point of England.
I know this one because I did a Sporcle quiz with friends one night and lost out because I couldn’t see in my mind who could be further north than Stranraer but south of Hamilton.
