If We Don’t Shoot, We Only Have Three Ways To Score

I don’t think anyone in our team has the ability to match the Managers shooting prowess.

Which is no slight on our players. Aribo isn’t as good as Messi. Doesn’t mean he’s not good.

In terms of Gerrard being able to teach his technique, it’s not as easy as that. Firstly, if it was easy to learn then Gerrard would have had every one of his team mates and youth Liverpool sides all doing it. Some part is to do with natural ability. Secondly it’s probably not easy to teach either. Folk with supreme skill don’t always or even often know exactly how they do it. Gerrard just saw the goal and told his body to shoot and then the technique happened. He probably has very little idea exactly what his body was doing to produce it.

We took three points, we are developing the ability to grind out results. This we cannot under estimate. We will beat Celtic and to top on Sunday, let’s see how they react to this. They have have some tricky games to navigate in September.

As is often the case when you have all the possession and the breakthrough doesnt appear to be coming it takes that something special to score. Great thing is we never panicked and that bit of class showed through that brilliant free kick.
