Inverness Caledonian Thistle will enter administration in 2 weeks unless they can raise £200,000

How did they vote with us?

That will determine how much sympathy i will give them.
My first thought.

Caley Thistle chairman Kenny Cameron said: "The past few weeks have been extremely hectic in terms of our supporters and season ticket holders making their views known in great numbers to the club, as is their right.

"It is fair to say that in excess of 95% of them raised the issue of sporting integrity as the reason why they don't want the newco to be admitted and had not yet renewed their season tickets.

"Financially, we examined the various scenarios and, frankly, none of them were positive for our club, it is extremely disappointing to be adversely affected by something not of our doing, unfortunately this is a similar situation for the rest of the clubs in SPL.

"We have also been contacted by supporters of various other SPL clubs, saying they would not be back to Inverness if we did not accept that sporting integrity was what mattered, but this is something that we had already considered and it is not only the integrity of the SPL that is at stake but the integrity of Scottish football.

"It is quite clear, that supporter opinion in Scotland overwhelming supports that view. Supporters are the life blood of any club and we would have been foolish not to take on board their opinions on this matter, they are our customers and any business that ignores the views of its customers does so at its peril.

"A substantial amount of our own fans have withheld from buying their season tickets, saying they will not do so if we vote for a newco to re-enter directly in to the SPL. In now making clear how we will vote, we expect these fans to come forward fairly quickly and renew their season tickets and give Caley Thistle the financial injection it requires for the 2012-13 campaign.

Kenny Cameron, the Inverness chairman, said: "We are one of the few clubs with no bank debt whatsoever, so our position is very far from immediately threatening, as has been alleged. We look forward to the new season on the back of renewed commitment over the weekend from our major shareholders and sponsors, for which we are very grateful.

"They fully appreciate that in May we, like other clubs, set our budget for 2012-13 and now there will be real change to the commercial curve because of events outwith our control.

"It is important that our supporters keep making their contribution via season ticket sales. We took their views on board and continue to hold the position that not allowing 'newco' Rangers into the SPL is the correct decision."

That worked out well then Kenny.

Even allowing for the mass input of malevolent rattlers into every other club's forums and polls seeking to influence the outcome at the time, ICT like every other club's genuine fans, gave us short shrift.
For that very reason we all said "never forgive, never forget".
Some of us have stuck to that to this day.
Feck ICT, feck them all.

Quite apart from that, I don't fancy their chances much. At a pretty difficult time for fitba clubs in general, I don't see anybody shoving £200,000 into ICT.

Spoke on this topic before.

I don’t want to see them go bust, if every club in Scotland went bust we would have no cup or league. Obviously other teams, smaller teams hate us so they were always going to vote one way towards us. It’s u understandable, we are the biggest club in Scotland so they are jealous and we take crowds away from their home towns

However we don’t need to see teams going to the wall or we will have no competitions left. People saying they want to see everyone go bust, who are we left to play? Celtic 30 times a season?

Scotland really need to regionalise its leagues. Top 2 leagues as professional and all Scotland. Anything below that have north and south teams. Teams like Stranraer can not sustain travelling to Elgin Peterhead Inverness etc and vice versa.

I don't think our fans WANT to see other teams go bust, but after all the hatred spewed towards us, our fans understandably have little sympathy for clubs in Scotland going through these issues. Every man and his dog were allowed to spout hatred and lies about our club, and it should never be forgotten.

Now doesn't that just taut their jaws over a decade later!

All clubs aren't going to go bust though.

The reality is, when we were at our lowest point, these clubs tried to kill us off so they aren't going to get any sympathy from us.

Nah, I want to see every club that voted against us, had a kick at the Rangers and anything in between to die a very horrible death.

%^*& them all.

Just out of interest, who voted with us.

Most of the replies to this thread would suggest otherwise. Folk are holding a gurning competition believing we'll head into the EPL soon, yet wondering why Scottish football is so shite with little investment overall.
