What's this mate?SFA incident over weekend has likely made action against the players impossible.
Rangers have done everything by the book
The linesman in the Hibs game broke isolation rules, shouldn’t have been at the game because he was supposed to be in his houseWhat's this mate?
Not getting the attention it deservesWhat's this mate?

Haha what a mess up (dunno how I missed it tbh!)Not getting the attention it deserves
Cartoon Network - Scottish Football Association.
Just listened to the referee coronavirus debate on a bbc podcast. Turns out the referee department of the SFA have two different set of protocols. 1 from the Scottish Government and one from UEFA. UEFA for European (away) and obviously our own Scottish Government when refs have games in...www.followfollow.com
If they have to, the SFA will suspend the linesman for 10 weeks just so they can hammer our lads.
Have to say, I’ve no sympathy with the eejits.
With the way the SFA operate, it’ll be a season ending suspension for them. Delaying it only adds to the punishment, as it’s unlikely Patterson for instance, would be selected by the club until he’s served a club suspension.Really strange there's been no SFA punishment for them yet.
Tbh mate, you couldn’t make it up.Honestly not making it up.
The players drinking in the bar was worse. The club have to be serious about punishment in this matter.
These idiots could have collapsed our season.
As days go by, this incident doesn't become less grievous and other players have to know that there can be no repeat.
However, the SFA are hamstrung by their attitude to the Dubai debacle.
The picture of Lennon and the Filth captain lying next to each other at a poolside quaffing beer makes giving Rangers players a seven-game ban very difficult when such bans were not given across the city.
It would be tantamount to saying that getting together for a beer is okay as long as you leave the country, even if you do bring covid back in, but getting together and socialising in Scotland will see the full weight of the SFA disciplinary system brought upon your heads.
Of course, the SFA are hypocritical bstrds in the habit of treating clubs other than The Filth differently and this is no level playing field, but it will be an interesting watch to see where they dare go with this nonetheless.
The players drinking in the bar was worse.
Indoors where transmission is much easier, and you can see members of the public close by.
You are obviously right but the authorities in recent years have shown repeatedly there is one harsher rule for Rangers than anyone else.
I think our club are watching and waiting for the bstrds to act and then we will hopefully call them out for their hypocrisy. The players drinking in the bar was worse.

Dubai -> Bolingoli -> Aberdeen 8 -> Edmundson/Jones -> these 5 idiots
in order of seriousness
Does anyone actually know what this so called "party" consisted of?
Am I right in saying that 10 penalty notices were handed out by the police? If so, and there were 5 Rangers players there, it would seem to me to be 5 players and their other halves?? = 10 people. So, was it just our players and birds gathering, or was it a big rager of a party?
Seems to me to be the first option and this is being blown way out of proportion when you consider Dubai etc...
The SFA allowing those officials to do the game on Sat has put them in a really difficult position. As stated earlier in the thread, we as a club have done everything by the book, so I’d expect this to be the end of the matter with internal fines and suspensions
There were 10 involved. So if the 5 were together in a private house, it isnt any worse than being at training unless there was external people there too.
Still they were idiots.
Patterson would be feeling it the worst. But I'm glad he will.
Yeah mate I completely agree. They are open to all sorts if there are any positive tests returnedThey brought the game into disrepute, A new referee had to be called. The linesman at the Hamilton game should have been isolating. Imagine if any now tests positive.

I've not looked into it too much mate (though I did see your thread early doors). So excuse me if I've missed some obvious stuff. First thing that came into my head was that when the Linesman was told on Wednesday that he'd tested positive would his first reaction not be to phone the other two and tell them that? Now if a mate of mine, whom I'd been in close contact with, phoned me and said that then I'd know I had to isolate. I wouldn't be waiting for Track and Trace or anybody else to tell me, I'd be straight into isolation. So there's questions there for Madden and the second Assistant in my view.what your views on referee coronagate? always interested in your thoughts.
Can't see Bobby Madden being banned for 7 games. So yes, club fine and back in the squad. After thee SFA debacle at the weekend, I think if the players apologise that should be the end of it. Thats how it works, isn't it?
If that is true and Gerrard sees it he’s on the 1st plane back to France.I wonder if Gerrard has been sent the video of Zungu doing the rounds with his tadger out...
What the actual fûck? Is that real?I wonder if Gerrard has been sent the video of Zungu doing the rounds with his tadger out...

I'm expecting at least as heavy as Jones etc if not more, as we were in a much higher level of legal lockdown than then. I'd expect it'll be a similar length ban as the Bolingoli and Aberdeen 8 instances last year. I certainly don't see it being as heavy handed or as excessive as the Jones and Edmundson instance.

As for the 'differing protocols' nonsense from the SFA I don't buy it. Common sense tells you that if you've been in close contact with someone who tested positive you need to isolate. Doesn't matter if you subsequently test negative, doesn't matter if T&T are involved, doesn't matter if you are Elite Sport or not - you isolate. See Tierney and Armstrong for examples, or the Scottish u21 squad.
So, major f*ck-ups all around. I'd ban/suspend the officials. What to do with those responsible at the SFA though? The same I guess. Suspended for incompetence whilst an investigation goes on into whether they are fit to remain in position.
Broadfoot is a complete and utter bellend. Made my blood boil every time I've heard him on SportSound. I know he was once employed by them but is he still with the SFA? Must admit I thought he had been moved on.Thats it m8, but the refs did follow protocol as advisied by the governing bodies (Their employers). They informed one another and were told by the SFA that UEFA guidelines allowed them to participate as they had retuned negatives tests.
As you say why not use common sense. However again the SFA said that UEFA protocols gave them the all clear. Wrong protocols they were following jeez.
The bit I say smacks of depression and lies, is the timeframe.
From the first linesman returning a positive, the second linesman running the line there after and then Madden on Sunday.
The Scottish FA PR man Daryl Broadfoot on BBC sport sound tried to justify and in all honesty it either makes the Scottish FA liars or incompetent. That thread I started has all the details.
See post 28.There were 10 involved.
Personally I'm not going to get overly involved in what others did. Five of our players, despite seeing what happened to Jones/Edmundson, and having had the law laid down to them frequently and forcefully by the Club, chose to think they were above it all and ignore everything they were told. That's all that matters to me. There's lots of different views on the necessity for the various restrictions imposed by the Government on here but, fact is, these guys went against our club - never mind anything set down by Government.See post 28.
Were the other 5 just other halves?
If so, surely it is not in line with the other breaches of protocols?
