Im not sure If its been reported elsewhere but according to Chilean radio, Italian football chiefs have said teams will not play to finish season 2019-2020

Would Spain follow Italy and do the same?

Predictions that the UK could pass Italy with the amount of infected and death rate then surely English football will announance the same.

How will UEFA react to this?

Not seen anything tonight about them cancelling the season. I did read an article yesterday which laid out a plan for all Serie A teams to set up base around Rome to quarantine / have a preseason for a month and then for them to play all the remaining games at 3 stadiums across the Lazio area. But can’t really see that happening.

Find it very unlikely that any of the big 4 leagues will null and void the league, the revenue lost would just be too high.

Very different to the smaller leagues where teams need ST money as a priority

Where are you getting that from?

Income is going to be lost no matter what they do - how can they finish this season and then squeeze the next in?

Javier Tebas, the La Liga president gave a load of interviews yesterday and from what he was saying, there is no chance the season in Spain will be cancelled. He also said that he'd been in touch with other major leagues and implied they all wanted to get up and running again soon and finish the season, behind closed doors if need be (and definitely behind closed doors to start with).

There would be a massive a mount of revenue lost for the big 5 leagues by null and voiding the season or settling it early on current standings. It’s only in Scotland where they are trying to imply that only one of those options would have big financial implications.

I think the big 5 will ensure they get their leagues finished in some capacity. When all is said and done, cash is king in football. TV and sponsor money will trump player health and fan opinion.

I read yesterday some expert predicting up to 60,000 UK deaths if we don't start isolating properly, could be from that. All it takes is one someone with a modicum of knowledge to say it and they have their story

Britain could suffer as many as 66,000 deaths from the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic making it the worst affected in Europe, new research suggests.

Modelling conducted by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington’s School of Medicine showed that approximately 151,680 people were likely to die from the virus across the continent.

More than 5,000 people have died from COVID-19 in Britain, far fewer than in Spain, Italy and France. But the UK’s epidemic lags behind the rest of the continent by several days, and its death toll trajectory is already steeper than other nations.

Juve and Inter have just recalled their foreign players according to Football Italia. Sick of reading conflicting reports.

That's a very long season!

Every expert in the world is being wheeled out to give a different spin on the news. Heard one on Radio this morning. Question. So why is Boris Johnston still in Intensive Care? Answer. Because he’s not well enough to leave. No shit Sherlock

Spain are not letting people out the door except to shop.
Fines for going out with anyone, car sharing, going to the park.
And it's running riot still.
No reason to think it won't get bad in the UK when no one seems to really be giving to many fucks and simply treating it all like a big holiday from work.
