Jefte fast becoming

Jefte you're Brazilian but the bears know what you are
You're dyed in wool a blue nose
And we know will go far
You've the Rangers in your heart

Colour me your colour, baby
Colour me your car
Colour me your colour, darling
I know who you are
Come up off your colour chart
I know where you're coming from
Call me (Call me) on the line
Call me, call me any, anytime
Call me (Call me) I'll arrive
You can call me any day or night
Call me
I honestly prefer My Lovely Horse.

My next target for a song. Great wee player :) Jefte Vital da Silva Dias. Loads to work with.

There's the tune for it right there. :))

Jefte Vital Da Silva Dias

You've got to sing it right.

Jefte Vital Da Silva Dias

He'll run down the line all night.

His name is Jefte he is Brazilian
No yellow feathers in his hair but is a teddy bear
He plays at full back...

Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl
With yellow feathers in her hair and a dress cut down to lay
She would merengue, and do the cha-cha
And while she tried to be a star, Tony always tended bar
Across the crowded floor
They worked from eight 'til four
They were young and they had each other
Who could ask for more?
I’d like to report a crime

The thing people forget is he is a laddy. Scottish players are given to 23/24 before they 'mature'! I love the way his 1st touch takes him into an attacking position. Will he be a great defender? Remains to be seen
Agree with this. Expectations / demands on young players coming through our own ranks seem to be lower than guys like Jefte, Nsiala, Diomande, Yilmaz, Raskin etc, all no older than 23. Yes I know we splashed big money (for us) on some of them, but they're still human beings. Young human beings, adapting to a new country, club, league, culture, climate, language and a hugely demanding fan base.

He has been very unlucky not have his first goal so far, he's hit the woodwork, shots blocked and inches by the post, one of them are going to scream into the net

Everyone, anyone and all that but that has to be the worst bit of "music" I've ever heard. I think I even prefer screaming German thrash metal to that turgid shite. Then to compound it, suggesting changing the lyrics and hoping young Jefte doesn't demand a transfer from fucking embarrassment from his "song". I don't think the club would have a leg to stand on TBF, they'd have to accept on humanitarian grounds.

Too far. Far, far, far too far.

Edit: I've come back to ask if you're audio impaired? There's no way anyone who can hear properly can think that's good music. Believe it or not, I'm very musically tolerant but by God that "song" has changed my life forever. It's one of those once heard things it leaves you scarred forever.

Thought I’d get in on the act. I cheated and asked ChatGPT to help. Here is the result.

To celebrate Rangers’ left-back Jefté, here’s a chant set to the tune of “Hey Jude” by The Beatles:

Hey Jefté, you’re our left-back
You came from Rio, now you’re at Ibrox
Remember to bomb down the wing and cross
Then you’ll make us better, better, better, better, better, oh

Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na
Hey Jefté

For me he’s actually not as good as a lot of you make out but understandable as he’s young

Lacks defensive awareness and ultimately his end product should be much better

Jefte's attitude is exactly what we should want in a Rangers player, he is game as f.uck and not afraid to exploit the dark arts when required. Improvement needed in some areas of his play, but a good piece of scouting and the only way is up.

Thursdays a big night which will show far he's come.

Although only a friendly, Amad terrorised him in preseason. Both players have upped their game since then. Will be an interesting match up.
Partly because he got absolutely no help from Cortes who couldn't be bothered tracking back. Or the rest of the defence that day. Jefte was sometimes left trying to mark 2 players at once.

I love how the wee man anticipates and intercepts passes down his wing. Take the 3rd v the scum. The ball gets played towards their man on the half way line, but before it reaches him, Jefte reached it, powers past him, and was in the attacking third in a flash.
He has to improve his accuracy in his delivery, but he is becoming a mainstay in the team.

To the tune of the Andy Halliday one:

Jefte Vital da Silva Dias,
Jefte Vital da Silva Dias,
He hates the Pope and the IRA,
Jefte Vital da Silva Dias

He’s Kid Creole and the Coconuts
Oh Jefte you are a lefty
Oh jefte you are a lefty
He hates that paedo club
And he thinks that their all ugly
Oh Jefte you are a lefty

He makes mistakes with the ball but he's confident and positive with everything he tries to do. I enjoy watching him and he'll only get better with more experience.
He really needs to stop losing the ball in areas of the park that allow teams to get an attack going against us though. It happens again and again. We will get punished for it against better quality. He also needs to work on the defensive side of his game. I actually believe he would be better suited further up the park.

I know. There's room for improvement along with some promising raw materials. Some of those things you mention should iron themselves out naturally over time as he matured and gains more experience. If mistakes cost him and us now then those should be all the lessons he needs to be wiser with his use of the ball in future. As I said originally though I like the fact he's confident enough to be a risk taker in order to try and make positive things happen for us.

I look forward to seeing him develop. You're right there could be scope for him to move further forward eventually, though currently I feel like his driving runs from deep are actually a strength of his and contribute to our threat down the left. Over time I'm sure the balance between attacking instincts and defensive responsibilities will be refined over time. Young guy yet with plenty of potential.
