Don’t know if he has the desire to go into coaching or not, or indeed has any aptitude in that area, but the Club should give him a chance to be involved in the coaching side IMO. How he has looked after himself, how he handles himself and the experience of the level he has played at are all top class.

An excellent role model. Similar In a lot of ways to the Gaffer but maybe able to have more direct involvement with the young players, especially those on the verge of the 1st team?

The exposure we now get with SG and JD is the best kind of exposure. Feels like the days of old. As opposed to a few years ago!

We are lucky to have Defoe but he's caught the bug, like many before him, and he absolutely loves it here. Having a striker of his quality to come in is fantastic

A great roll model for every youngster to aspire too, his live for his work and life shines through every time you hear him speak.

Every young player that comes through the door should be made to watch a message from him on how hard work is why they’re there and to leave any egos at the gate and pick it back up on the way home.

He talks about how he can still play at this age because of training he did in his 20’s.

He also says how he tells the young players that he never just turns up on match day and scores. It’s the stuff he does in training during the week that creates the great performances

I want him stay on as a coach when he finishes. He's a shining light, and a good, positive influence. Great wee guy.
