Jerry Kerr Stand - an accident waiting to happen

Jerry Kerr was their former manager from 1959-1971 also played for them

He also had a couple of spells with us either side of WW2 during his playing career
I have been to our games at Tannadice on many occasions over the years although not since our League winning day (of which there are quite few) that saw a Pedro Mendes cracker and another spring awakening of Kyle Lafferty. The staircase out of the stand above the players tunnel was totally bizarre in the context of a football “stadium”

Jerry Kerr was part of Scottish football when it did not hate itself. He also had the sense to sign Davie Wilson and Jimmy Millar when, in particular with wee Davie, we did not have the sense to keep them at Ibrox.

Just watched footy adventures video from today and right at the end as he's walking out... he trips. Also shows the "legroom" a couple times during the video. I think he's further along a bit tho.

Do they still have those amusing murals on the walls as you're going upstairs from the entrance?

The ones that look like Microsoft Paint in real life?

The faces of the painted players look like Plug from the Bash Street Kids crossed with Davie Dodds.

Tannadice is the biggest dump of a stadium you'll find in the Premiership. I was watching our game today with a friend of mine who's a Motherwell fan and I was telling him that even compared to Fir Park, Tannadice is an absolute bomb site.

I was behind the goal today but was in JK couple seasons back when Sakala and Tillman scored.

Was exact same that day in they didn't open turnstiles until about 25 minutes after they were meant to and said it was that they didn't have enough stewards.

Interesting to read someone say they were blocking exit at scoreboard, they literally announced over the tannoy to remember to use that exit just as the last fans were getting out today.
Was going to say this.

We were still waiting to get out of the West Stand and they were making repeated PA announcements for people to use the exit at the scoreboard end of the Jerry Kerr.

What an utter shambles today

Turnstiles didn’t open until almost 11:20 as they “didn’t have enough stewards”. We were then told they lost the keys.

Got in and went to the toilets which honestly looked like something out of a POW camp.

At the end of the game, a steward was actively blocking the exit at the scoreboard side and telling us all to use the other stairs at the other end of the stand above where the players come out.

An entire stand using one, very narrow exit and set of stairs that were incredibly steep.

No idea why the steward was blocking the other exit and they are incredibly fortunate there was not a crush or an accodent

The place is an utter tip and dangerous to be honest.
How can they pass fire regulations if stewards are blocking exits? I thought stadiums had to pass an evacuation test using exits? Genuine question, as I know nothing of the laws involved.

That stand has always looked suspect to me. Looks to steep and it doesn't go back far enough to support it - you can see it from street side. I recall when it was just the corner bit and the rest all the way around was all terracing then I think after the uefa cup final they threw that up and joined it to the corner cantilever.

Wouldn't be surprised if there is an accident in there soon due to the design

the whole stadium is a disgrace. I was in the west stand yesterday and the exit is down a slope that must claim numerous ankle breaks every year.
Thankfully didn't need the toilet as they looked horrendous. The league should be stepping in and demanding these grounds are Brought up to standard

The steward woman outside was asking if we all had tickets for Gerry Kerr, for a second I thought we were going to see a comedy show. My daughter who was working at Tannadice months ago said it was a death trap. After being in the Jerry Kerr yesterday I concur with her. Going down to the toilets I thought I was an extra in a gladiators film going down to the caged in cellars of the colosseum.

The west stand is horrific. The toilets I seen consisted of 2 solitary toilet bowls. Glad I went pre match because at half time it would've been horrible. Then the supports overhead were dropping what I hope was rust and decaying paint over the fans when we were waving flags etc.

While we were leaving there was a wire of some sort hanging from the exit of the ground ready to decapitate someone as well.

Ibrox has a lot of flaws, but by god Tannadice is one of the worst shitehole stadiums we ever go to.

God remember that now.

You can see by the pitch of the stand in the top picture how steep it is and in relation to the street below.

Now they have completed it all the way along it looks well dodgy.

You should have "removed" the steward and opened the doors. Problem solved
