Yes, this indeed is the law in England. CPS prosecute on the Police evidence without an official complaint. Generally there has to be a bit of history (his previous in this case I would say) and they are confident of a conviction.

Exactly. That'd be happening all the time. He knew it'd be out of order but he just couldn't help himself. The urge to hang a player out to dry was just too great

You’d think he’d have learnt his lesson about shooting his mouth off after his experience up here.

Came up giving it the big one and got embarrassed big time. The guy got a run around off Hamilton FFS.

Hopefully most other managers realise he’s a complete rocket with no credibility and the players get fixed up with new club.
 
If what happened to him at Rangers had happened to him at another club, in another ferocious derby, how satisfying would it have been as a neutral to see him run his mouth and talk down about the level only to get absolutely run over the top of?
 
Would be amusing if the boy leathered him. He’s humiliated him in the press. It’s ok having that conversation face to face but can’t be saying that to reporters.

Scottish journalists. They are so dense light bends round them and shines on the gangrene brigade and totally misses the point.
 
Says the players are no longer his clubs problem - surely if he’s just give one of them a 2 year deal they’re very much the club’s problem until someone else buys him.

And after the character assassination he’s just given them publicly that may take some time
 
Hope the boy tells him to bolt and sits pretty for two years, chances are he’ll last longer than Barton and he’s not getting a better deal elsewhere after that interview.
