John Collins on BBC Radio Scotland 'Eduard's a better player than Morelos"

Their almost daily need to talk Edouard up is cringeworthy.

Is there another fanbase/media in world football creaming themselves because their 23 year old main man is scoring goals at under 21 level?

As for these constant comparisons? The SS Teninarow has been torpeadoed, and they're now clinging desperately to the we're-a-better-team lifeboats.

Meanwhile, back in reality, we won 55 and are still in with a chance of doing the double.

Let them flounder.

Bored of this comparison. Two very different types of forward, both of whom are having their worst seasons since joining.

On their day they are two brilliant strikers who can score for fun in Scotland and Europe. Pointless to identify which one is the better.

agree they are very different players. Get frustrated at Alfie not getting the hype of edouard though, it does no harm to talk your players up. And, while he at times hasnt done himself any favours in the past, the way he gets dug up for anything and OE's wee dives etc dont get the same attention is infuriating. But who john collins thinks

The difference between them is that when you take Edouard’s goals away, he adds nothing to the team. Not the case with Morelos.
Two problems with their player. First, he's a lazy bar steward who can't be arsed. Second, to stop him all you need to do is stand behind him with your legs shut. HIs one trick pony dummy doesn't work.

Agree with the over the top reaction when he goes down. Clear dive in the 2019 Scottish cup final by Edouard and nothing was said in the media. A couple of Morelos’ red cards been justified and rightly criticised, others have been a joke.

Honestly couldn’t pick one to pick out of the two on their day. Morelos has the power, fearlessness and can bully defenders. Eduaord has the better link up play and probably the better technique. Both are goal scorers.

Think Eduoards maybe got more flashy attributes, more likely to go by a player, bigger, maybe scored more eye catching goals. When you break it down with Alfie, he doesnt take players on much, not fast, not the most natural finisher -for all his goals - but hes a clever as fk footballer who absolutely terrorises defenders, pulls them all over the place, just got an instinct about him. i just think alfie brings more to a team and the way hes developed his game this season shows hes a team player. They might get a higher fee for Edoard but I wouldnt swap them. Maybe he'll kick on with better coaching cos he looked a better player a year ago but if he does it wont be for them.

Now you know why that twat canny get a job managing a football team. Big Sutton,s cv, managed one club, made an arse of it, and now he's telling everybody how to be a manager, and where they are going wrong. The encyclopedia of knowing f@#k all about everything, Stewart, has never managed anything, but tells anyone that will listen to him how to manage, or run a football club, or everything about anything with no experience. Only in Scotland, they would be hunted anywhere else.

No doubt the Celtic pr machine will report his transfer as being worth "potentially around £40m" including 4 years of wages plus add ons lol

The longer this attitude goes on the better for us, it’s their downfall and even though they’ve been pumped from pillar to post in every department they STILL come out with this shite.

Never change you arrogant horrible stinky bastards.

Of course, a man with such a stellar and successful record as a manager is always going to be worth listening to. He’s just another moon howler begging for attention. Ignore and move on.

I am more than happy to regurgitate this stat from Premier Sport yesterday. He has never scored a headed goal in his entire career! Never, not one! a no.9 who can't score with a cross into the box? Who is kidding who here, Morelos has led the line against back 4s on his own and made defenders like Pepe look ordinary, scoring ALL types of goals at all levels.
It particularly made me laugh that he's never scored a header even as a 23 year old against teenage boys for France U21s
Unfortunately not true mate.
Not scored many, but has one or two.

Tbh, neither are showing consistency just now. Ultimately, there’s not a lot between them.
I disagree.

Morelos is a totally different type of player this season.

Watching him on Sunday, he was playing well within himself. Because he has that goal against the tramps now, there's a huge weight off his shoulders.

He is much more of a team player now.

Edouard looks like someone who is working his ticket. Keeping up his scoring stats with dodgy penalties - sometimes.

Collins was trying to argue that there isn't a big gulf between the two teams so Kenny McIntyre asked him how many Celtic players would get in the Rangers team. He said McGregor, Edouard and Ajer would get in. Kenny then said well that backs up the argument that there is a big gulf as you've just said only three Celtic players would get in the Rangers team. Collins had therefore defeated his own argument despite the fact he was being extremely generous suggesting three of them would get in.

Darryl Broadfoot said McGregor, Christie and/or Forrest and Julien would get in. English pointed out Helander's a better defender than Julien and also said no Celtic player would get in the Rangers team right now.
Did Broadfoot watch McGregor on Sunday? And as for Christie ffs, the most hyped up player since Paul McStay, the filth supporters were despondent when they knew he would be playing.

Not a lot between them? If Eduard had a 1/5th of Morelos's work rate he would stroll it.

As it is hes lazy as feck and just cant be bothered.
That’s the big difference.
Nothing might be going right for Morelos on a given day but he’ll be trying his hardest to change this and help his teammates.
Edouard, on the other hand, waits on his teammates to make it happen.
Then takes the glory!

The Sportsound podcast last night is worth a listen from around 38mins.

Tom English pushing Daryl Broadfoot on whether the SFA has even asked the government to get fans in for the cup final.

His answer was "NO" they haven't even asked....

Who is this “English” chap who is coming away with so many sensible and unarguable* points?
What happened to that other “English” lad who’d say black was white rather than say a positive word about Rangers.

*unarguable as in other than in the diseased minds of the vermin support.

Firstly, Tom, he had to wait to see is Celtic got there.
Secondly, that’d be almost like thinking ahead.

Edouard is probably more skilful than Morelos. But Morelos is much more effective because he has become a team player rather than an individual playing his own game. Morelos is integral to our team and we are far better when he plays.

All those great Celtic players Hmm !!!! and how many points did your better players end up with behind Morelos and the rest of the Ranger's team John ? ..... Wakey Wakey !!! time to get up now and stop dreaming about six packs and superstars , there is a nightmare of reality waiting to greet you john . :shh:

I think he's a decent player when he tries. He's strong, skillful and no slouch. He's been poor in Europe but playing for us he'd be sensational. He's the only player they have who would be a first pick for us. He'd be excellent beside Morelos.
