''Ah hink'' he's ok.
Seems to want to play football - too many teams in Scotland resistant to that.If he wasn't a former Tim, I'd have had him at Rangers with one of the younger teams. So passionate and has great ideas on the game. Can't help but feel he would really excel in that type of role.
Too much goodwill on this thread. Fuk him.
I dont think Yogi Hughes is actually a celtic fan. He's from the east coast I'm sure and celtic just happened to sign him for a brief period. Always struck me as an alright bloke.
He was an absolute thug of a playerHe's hard to dislike as a man. Horrible player though. Hard and dirty but seems a genuine good lad.
Always been a hibby m8 .Not true. He's from Leith and supported Celtic as a kid, but he did used to go and watch Hibs too.
You're wrong.Always been a hibby m8 .
Regardless of their allegiances, Scottish football needs more managers like Hughes and Rice in charge in the top flight.
Managers who want to try and play attractive football and give younger players a chance.
What do you mean ?Can't understand him most of the time but seems ok.
100% thisAlways been a hibby m8 .
I didn't need it confirmed but he admitted on Simon Ferry's podcast that he grew up a Celtic fan but went to watch Hibs with his mates.100% this
His accent. Is that you john? What do you mean ?
Let's be honest here. He's far from being the worse.Everyone’s favourite Tim being everyone’s favourite Tim again.
A Dinae KenHis accent. Is that you john?
Him Alan Preston and Paul Kane are all cousins and I cannot remember him being a Celtic fan but if he says he is he is, wait until I see himI didn't need it confirmed but he admitted on Simon Ferry's podcast that he grew up a Celtic fan but went to watch Hibs with his mates.
Remember him being hard but no memories of dirty, nasty challenges like I have of the likes of Darren Dods and others. He's hard to dislike as a man. Horrible player though. Hard and dirty but seems a genuine good lad.
Yogi acts daft so folk underestimate him. Staggies will be well drilled for Saturday.Make no mistake, we will have to work hard for our win this weekend.
He will have his team very well drilled and we wont get away with a first half performance like Sunday.
He knows how the game works, it would be silly if he wrote our team talk for usGood humble lads , Salt of the earth boys , the type you want in the trenches , my sort of people , Good working class stock , Playing fitba like men , Hard but fair Just a good bunch of boys
No we won't.Make no mistake, we will have to work hard for our win this weekend.
He will have his team very well drilled and we wont get away with a first half performance like Sunday.
Theyve also beaten Hibs & the scum away Jack, so we need to be on our game.
Defo mate, they'll be up for it and Yogi knows it.
Don't mind the big man but we have to win this and put them to the sword.
A thought he was a Hivs man?Hughes is proof that just because you're a Celtic man you don't need to be a paranoid, vindictive arsehole with a victim complex. There's a few could learn from him.
Eta: Brian Rice is another. Decent guys who love the game and put it first. Respect to them both.
I’d have him regardless of his Tim leanings. He’s a big honest guy who knows the game probably better than any other Scottish coach in our league. If he wasn't a former Tim, I'd have had him at Rangers with one of the younger teams. So passionate and has great ideas on the game. Can't help but feel he would really excel in that type of role.
Mate you have no idea how many tim coaches there are at us at youth level .If he wasn't a former Tim, I'd have had him at Rangers with one of the younger teams. So passionate and has great ideas on the game. Can't help but feel he would really excel in that type of role.
Aye I do like him, he was out of the game for too long.Sound lad is big Yogi.
Hopefully at the expense of Motherwell. He will keep Ross County up.
Never had a problem with Hughes always comes across as a guy who enjoys football...Sound lad is big Yogi.
If you had a big party on the 12th night, you'd let Yogi come because everyone seems to like him. He'd be sitting in your back garden round the BBQ saying "There were some lovely banners today, and I'll tell you what, nothing sounds quite like the lambeg!"Everyone’s favourite Tim being everyone’s favourite Tim again.
Is that what you call folk that got up to ‘shenanigans’ with that other ‘good guy’ of Scottish football Jim McCaffertyOne of Scottish footballs good guys
If he does it's up to our players to break it down.I wonder if the plaudits for him will still be going at the weekend after he parks umpteen buses in their penalty box.?
100% agree. If he does it's up to our players to break it down.
Correct @Noddy I have always liked big Hughes though, just seems like a genuine guy and he’s always up front and honest. Still see him going ballistic when he knocked Celtic out of the cup a few years back. Can’t ask for more than that. Not true. He's from Leith and supported Celtic as a kid, but he did used to go and watch Hibs too.
