ok was having a debate with pals on which of these two had the better shots on them, I picked Gerrard as he scored lots of long range shots, but then Juninho's freekicks were something else, he was the man at Lyon, who would you pick?

that's my thinking too, you give him a chance to shoot on goal, chances are the keepers picking the ball up from the back of the net

Gerrard could strike a ball from any distance. Juninho may have been a good set piece taker but if the ball dropped 25 yards out to a player to hit it you would want Gerrard smashing it every time.

quite a few of his goals were from stupid distances too, just goes to show you don't have to dribble past a stash of players if you can shoot on target from distance

Plus almost half of his goals came from free kicks and penalties alone

He was a hell of a player for Lyon, and one of the best free kick takers of all time, but Gerrard's all round game made him a once in a generation type of player

when Juninho shoots, the ball moves quite a bit, and not just to one direction, seen ones where the ball moves at the last second which bamboozles a lot of keepers
