Largs Thistle 2-2 Rob Roy
Rob Roy went one up against the run of play but Owen McGinty, ex RFC, equalised just before half time.
Thistle were well on top in the second half and when McGinty scored a good second the points looked to be secure.
However, Rob Roy got their second in the closing minutes which made the draw seem like a loss for the home crowd.
Owen McGinty two strikes were outstanding and although only nineteen years old, the quality of his play in the eighteen yard box illustrated perfectly why he was regarded as a very good player in the making when he was at a number of senior clubs including Rangers. At times he wouldn’t have looked out of place in the striking roll at Ibrox last Thursday!
Maybe his time will still come.
The chicken and rice soup was excellent and there were very good reports of the local, Patons of Largs, steak pies which looked very tasty.
The weather was scorchio.
