Kids football team sponsorship

I was in a discussion about sponsorship of a kids football team, sponsorship for tracksuits and for new strip.

The opinions of what someone would pay to sponsor a team varied, has anyone ever sponsored a team and roughly how much would it cost to sponsor a team?

The team would need new tracksuits and strips would sponsors be willing to pay for tracksuits if company name/logo was advertised on the tracksuit, same with strips.

Just genuinely interested as opinions were so varied.

I remember my sons team looking for 500 quid to sponsor the boys. They were probably 13s at the time so 5 years ago. Strips were joma im pretty sure. Im prwtty sure it was just for 1 set of strips as they didnt have trackies at that point.

Our team had race nights and we run a bonus ball to help us with strips.

We had a local factory buy us strips couple seasons back in return for company on strip and local exposure including picture in the paper. Strips were around £600.

Go around a couple of local businesses with a couple of players in strips. You'll find the support you need.

I’ve coached for 8 years now. Tend to get different sponsors for strips, mid layer tops and waterproof jackets. 11a side now so kits cost about £600, mid layers and rain jackets about £300 each. Don’t get full blown tracksuits just the top. 3 of us coach so hit a fairly wide network. We ask the restaurants we go to regularly, self employed parents in the team and any other self employed contacts we have. This has worked well for us but there are other ways of doing it as others have said

I got my work to sponsor my sons boys club team and that comes to about £700 for about 14 strips with names and numbers. We have another parent that sponsors away strips and another that does the waterproof jackets.

My son is part of a team in my area he’s 8 the teams been going for years and they have just been awarded a £1000 grant to get kids/adults back into grassroots football you should encourage the team to look into this. On the kit though my work has sponsored a team and it cost £500 for the kit alone.

We done a bonus ball recently for the chance to sponsor our kit.

59 x £20.

Found we could've filled it twice over, you may find it easier in these times than asking a business to fork out 700 quid on a kit.

Task the parents and coaches with getting a couple of entries each, we had some business owners taking 5 squares

Leaves you money over for fees etc

A lot of folk talking about grants. We got one through Asda. Cant remember how much between 500 and 1000. Cant remember if it was a football specific thing but there are initiatives like that going about. Im sure clydesdale bank did similar under their 'we care about here' tag

Have sponsored a few recently. Generally between 750 - 1500 quid depending on the kit. Don’t get too much from having company name or logo on the gear but generally do it where I have a member of staff who has a connection to the club. Usually get an extra jersey and get it framed for the office.

Youth team short sponsooship: I think it's something the club should consider more themselves to be honest.

Community and charity contributions whilst boosting our fan base with kids who are just falling in love with the sport themselves.

Anything between £300-500, depends on how many players, 5-7-9-11? Depending on age group. It’s usually about £30 a strip, I couldn’t get a sponsor for my sons under 8s

Depends how many kids in the team ofcourse (and age/size)

For 10yr olds your prob looking at £30 per strip/kit and maybe £50 per tracksuit. All inclusive of embroidery/logos etc. (Obviously strips/tracksuit could be more expensive or a bit cheaper depending on the brand. I’ve based prices around the mid-range)

So for a team with 20 kids, your prob looking at around £1600 for strips and tracksuits or thereabouts.
