The headline, if not the content of the article, implies Rangers are trying to exert pressure on the SPFL by sabotaging preparations being made to either finish the current season or start a new one.

In fact, anyone with a brain would realise there is no chance whatsoever or any game being played in Scotland within the next four weeks due to the virus crisis.

But hey, why let the facts get in the way of paranoia.

Rangers rip up Ibrox pitch and end hope of quick fire restart to title finish
The Ibrox club confirmed they have started out essential work on the Ibrox playing surface and it's understood Stewart Robertson made their position clear to the SPFL board on Tuesday.

Rangers have given up any hope of a quick fire re-start to this season’s title fight - after tractors rolled into Ibrox to dig up the battered pitch.

Record Sport can exclusively reveal turf care specialists spent the day inside the club’s stadium to begin a major repair job on the playing surface, with two months of the scheduled season still to run.

The work started on the same day as the SPFL board reached a deadlock in crisis discussions over what contingency plans ought to be put in place for the current campaign should the Covid-19 pandemic continue to wreak havoc over the summer.

Those talks will resume again on Wednesday morning along with the repair work at Ibrox.

Normally, summer pitch renovation would include the laying of a brand new surface and could take up to ten weeks to complete.

That would mean the renovation could leave Steven Gerrard’s men unable to stage any home matches until the start of June at the earliest.

But club sources insisted that the job could be rushed through in half that time if the top flight is somehow ready for a resumption before then, in spite of the ongoing coronavirus lock-down..

An Ibrox spokesman confirmed to Record Sport: “Rangers are carrying out essential works which will be completed within four weeks.

“There is no reasonable expectation that we will be playing football at Ibrox in the next four weeks. Clubs in England have been carrying out similar work in recent weeks.”

Rangers, though, are thought to be ready to fight any plan which would bring the season to an early end.

It’s understood general manager Stewart Robertson made the club’s position clear during Tuesday's SPFL board meeting which had to be adjourned twice and will now reconvene at 8.30 am this morning.

A 100-page document was circulated to board members detailing the league’s proposals to deal with the financial impact of the global health pandemic on the Scottish game - and whether or not to pull the plug on the 2019/20 season.

Rangers have stated categorically that the current campaign must be played to a finish to maintain sporting integrity, rejecting any proposal to declare leaders Celtic as champions. They remain adamant that the title must be won on the pitch rather than handed over prematurely on Hampen’s sixth floor.

But that won’t happen any time soon now that a firm of contractors have set to work on their playing surface.

Heavy machinery from Allgrass Scotland - whose own website shows pictures of a previous pitch renovation at the club’s Auchenhowie training base - had gone through the gates of Ibrox to begin the job of installing new turf.

Now all eyes will be back on Hampden’s sixth floor for further crisis talks planned to take place by conference call throughout the day.

It will begin with a breakfast time resumption of the board meeting before the SPFL hold separate discussions with all 42 clubs across its four divisions.

The world game’s governing body FIFA also announced emrgency plans to extend the current season, including automatic contract extensions for players across the globe as well as a fluid approach to the end of season transfer window.

These measures appear to designed to assist Europe’s biggest earning leagues as well as UEFA all of whom would be hit with legal claims worth billions of pounds should their respective crown jewel competitions fail to be properly concluded.

But there is a growing belief that smaller nations with less lucrative league set-ups may be given the leeway to take their own urgent action in an attempt to prevent financial carnage throughout the football world.

One source told us: “Clubs in countries such as Belgium, Holland and Scotland simply cannot afford to wait for the big boys and told to toe the line. Not when some of them face going out of business over the coming weeks and months.

“Like many others, the Dutch are now looking at making these crucial decisions at the end of this month.

“Every league in Europe would like the season to be decided on the pitch and that remains the case here in Scotland.

“But the longer this crisis continues and the more it harms the health of people all over the world the less realistic that seems.”

Aye the groundsmen look like they're ripping the pitch up, Jackson is just another poor journo scrapping up shite,

I love how the record ‘exclusive’ was on here and elsewhere hours ago. As for the article, it’s what Jackson does best, click bait sensationalism journalism.

The season is already over. If he thinks we're already preparing the surface for next season, then let him. Jackson is the moron's moron.

Are both his readers buying this crap?

What an utter arsehole this clown is. He constantly writes Rangers hating crap just for clickbait and to crawl up the scums arse.

Journalism died in this country many, many years ago. I so wish I was young enough and able to leave this cesspit. I'm tired of it.

Good people, honourable decent people, are dying on a daily basis throughout the world, we have others showing the best in all of us in doing what they can to support vulnerable, needy people which is genuinely heartwarming and yet we have this waste of space and liewells lickspittles, churning out their agenda driven hatred on a daily basis. They're empty inside.

Given that St Boo have furloughed vast majority of playing staff, then there is a lengthy period for them to recall and train players to be ready to commence a season.

Another non story.
The law around furlough is that the MINIMUM period you can furlough staff is 3 weeks. Therefore no football can now be played by any team that has furloughed players for that period.
The repairs we are doing will take 4 weeks max. A complete non story from this prick.
Sooner that rag dies the better,

Genuinely shocked he hasn’t been made redundant.

but regardless - Scottish football is a mess and kike his face - un-fixable.

the Asterix title will not be forgotten

Jackson needs a lady,he’ll not know what a lovely lady looks like ,because he’s just at the start of bacterial disease.

Thus the reason I do not read the record, anti Rangers at all times, always willing to put the boot in whenever possible,

Corned Beef Keef at his usual shit stirring worst

As others say. Thousands of UK deaths and this rocket is happy to create a non story

The sooner the Daily Rebel is formally banned the better

They have zero compassion or moralistic compass during this pandemic

We know their agenda

The sooner the club tell them to phuck off the better

They're doing what they can to get clicks at the moment. Everyone would do well to remember that and ignore them

Just about every day for a fortnight he was penning articles absolutely reeking of desperation to call the season as it stands and handing the mentally challengeds the title right now.

His agenda now is that the filth want to finish the season but may have to reluctantly accept the title for the greater good. Now it’s Rangers fault for taking away any chance of a quick restart.

What a disgusting horrible scumbag. He has really shown his true character through this pandemic and is fast becoming the most loathsome media lackey out there.

He couldn’t get his tongue any further up the filths arse if he tried.

The slow and lingering death of Scottish football journalism will be one positive to come out of all of this.

The pain of our clubs rejection is so clear, relegated to getting stories off our site and RTV. No one at the club talks to the fucker or anyone at his arse wipe rag, so he jackanories (you still won't be getting the "exclusives" you crave anytime soon ya prick). The stuff coming from that 'journalist' and his paper in the last few weeks is nauseating.
It has been the same with his pen pal mutton, Rangers need to do this, Rangers need to say that and the reaction from the club......silence. Until we were ready, had all the ducks in a row and it was a perfect statement.

So desperate for clicks they will say just about anything, the writing is on the wall, that 'newspapers' time is up, every cloud n all that.

Up ye you pair of desperate, sensationalist, bullshitting degenerate wankbags.

Oh keef jackoffson you really love writing shite about our club Rangers don’t you? FFS man away and top yourself and give us peace.

800 people died in the UK yesterday.

We'll not be playing football at the end of April. In fact, i very much doubt we'll be playing in May or June either.

Jackson should be ashamed of himself. He's a jourbalist, not a mouthpiece.

Has anyone managed to collate his 'sensationalist' headlines since the Celtic driven league agenda started? It feels like it's daily now from Jackson.

Anyone with half a brain understands that no football is going to be played until June at the earliest, and even that timescale is optimistic. Pound to a penny though that the same see you next tuesdays in the media would be on our backs if we didn’t do anything to improve the pitch in the next few weeks and it was just as bad when the restart finally does happen.
