Lack of goals in the team

Whilst I like the look of silva as a player, I think he is another that won’t get enough goals. Danilo scored a few but missed a few too and the less said about Dessers the better.

I think this will be our Achilles heel. From the strikers to the midfield and even the centre backs, just don’t see enough goals

many people had the same thoughts with how the transfer window ended

dessers is hot and cold the chances he misses are unreal and silva will get goals but not a 20 30 a season striker

poeachers score goals when its as tipy tapy that we seem to be doing just now

kris boyd for instance would be on 20 already imo

We're hardly "tippy tappy" :D

Silva looks dangerous in every game he plays and there's still Dessers who has been decent off the bench.

Think people have convinced themselves into thinking a pure 9 like Shankland was going to sign and complete this team, even though we've been playing some really nice, controlled football overall.

Our conversation rate is worrying.

i never wanted shanksie or ham shank or big shankman but what we are missing is a forward that will put the ball in the net when chances come his way

dessers was like a duck chasing a egg the other night, silva is good but not clinical enough for me

In summary, we’re excellent everywhere except the penalty box. Where we’re dug shit.
We do need to rectify this situation. It’ll catch us out eventually.

It’s staring everyone in the face. Silva isn’t a number 9, for us at least. I’m yet to see him receive the ball with his back to goal and do anything productive with it.

Dessers suffers from the same flaw and it’s such a hinderance to our team.

I’m not saying Silva is a bad player. It’s obvious that’s not the case. But he’s much better at receiving the ball facing goal, committing people and linking up from that position. He also doesn’t get into goalscoring positions often enough.

This is still a team gelling especially in the final 3rd

The main thing is the team are expecting to win every match

We’re throwing too many crosses in with nobody good in the air to connect with them, most of them are meat and drink to big central defenders.
It’s not as we’ve still got big DJ up front, hit the bye line and cut it back.

We aren't scoring a massive number of goals to chances created (just over 2 per league game) but thankfully we aren't conceding very many.
I think it's only 12 league goals lost so far in 24 games.

Decent chance we're going top of the league on goal difference on Wednesday. 25 games into the season. Just saying.

Mostly down to the defensive record. Celtic's isn't bad but ours is exceptional right now.

We're still 7 goals behind them in terms of goals scored. And that's them with a proven goalscorer completely off the boil this season.

We just don't have enough goals through the team and we don't have a reliable clinical striker either.

Dessers misses far too many chances and Silva does most of his best work outside the box

A bigger concern would be if chances weren't being created. At some point with the chances we do have every game we're bound to hit a purple patch and that GD will take a real upward surge.

Anyone know when Sima is due back? Feared he was out for the season but since he hasn't been sent back to Brighton I'd assume he's still got a part to play with us this season.

At the risk of being ridiculed, when is Roofe due back? If he and Sima are back next month and (don’t laugh) he doesn’t immediately fall apart, we may have enough.

Key is to keep ticking off the wins in the here and now, Ross County first, then St J.

For me one of the issues is creating really good clear cut chances.
Often our decision making or execution in the last third means that it’s only a half chance or a bit rushed - which isnt helping the player hoping to score.
Hopefully that improves

Imagine we had a better end product, were more ruthless.

Our attacking play, decision making, creating of chances, shooting, anticipation inside the box is poor. It’s all so predictable.
