Land directly next to our stadium

Does anyone know exactly the land that belongs to us. For example how far back from the copland road and broomloan stand do we actually own? Just thinking what Dave King might be thinking to mark our 150 year anniversary.

I’m sure the club own the block of flats at the bottom of the old stair 13, or at least they did

There hasn’t been so much as a brick laid , nothing . We are 150 years old in two years and a month .

Hopefully get an update at next shareholding meeting.

If Money is required for on field activities, Im sure Club 1872 and other fan groups could start to raise funds.

I’m not sure it is in getting everything ready for the 150 celebrations. Planning should be underway at the moment.

How do you know it isn’t ? ..and they’ve just built around 20 houses a mile away from my home ,it took them a year ,calm down

There isn’t going to be a walkway or whatever built.

Its another thing King shouldn’t of mentioned, just getting peoples hopes up. We aren’t rich enough to start building things whilst funding the first team.

As much as I want safe standing, fan zone, memorial garden etc. I would be delighted to have won the second SPFL title in a row and a high profile friendly ti mark the occasion.

The M74 extension was complete in 3 years, but 2 years isn't enough for us to build a walkway at Ibrox?

You are delusional if you think anything major can now be done within two years . The pace that our board do things ? Give yourself a shake.

There will be no walkway/memorial garden/fanzone or anything similar in place by 2022. Mark this thread and we will come back to it.

2022 should be when Rangers stamp their authority on the cultural aspect of this city. A year long series of commemorative events with speakers and historians explaining the massive influence our club has had not only on Glasgow but Scotland itself. Round it all off with a sell-out Sash Bash at the Hydro in December 2022. :)

They built the Empire state building in a year !!!

How long did planning permission take ? These daft things “ they built a motorway, they built this and that “ have zero relevance ffs.

The fact is we will be lucky if the court case for the memorial garden is done in two years, never mind the actual building of one.

Unless there are already plans signed off and ready that we don’t know about, then nothing will be in place that will properly celebrate our 150th year . We were told we would see several” fitting” improvements in the surrounds of the stadium to fall in line with 2022. We are six weeks from 2020 and all we have is a court case.

Nothing you mention is major though, a walkway would essentially be repaving and the proposed memorial garden could be built in months

The club have been in dialogue with Glasgow city council for a number of years about the part pedestrianisation of Edmiston Drive. Patience required.

Planning permission to lay some slabs? You're overthinking this mate.

Mate, the way things are constructed in the US is years ahead of how it's done here, always has been. They would put a thousand brickies on site if required whereas over here it would be a 4 + 2 squad.lol

So according to rumours, there's going to be a walkway, an upgrade to the frontage of the Copland, Govan and Broomloan stands. The main stand will be getting some TLC with the front pedestrianised. Edmiston House will be getting used for a Museum/Bar and Cafe/Ticket Office. The fanzone expansion will be reliant on GCC not being scumbags, which is unlikely.

It wouldn't surprise me if the memorial garden idea is scrapped.
