PETER LAWWELL has shelved plans for a state-of-play address to Celtic fans, according to reports.

The Hoops chief executive has been the target of supporters' ire in recent weeks as the club's dismal campaign continues.

While several have called for him to leave his role in a bid to allow the Parkhead club to move on.

Now, according to the Daily Mail, plans for Lawwell to address the fans on the current state of the club's review of the season so far have been shelved.

The decision has reportedly been made in the wake of negative reaction to his apology for the club's trip to Dubai earlier this month.

And the fan group hit out at his "parody-like apology" in a statement last week.

In part, it read: "Promised 'added value' for our investment, our latest instalment came by way of a Peter Lawwell parody-like apology for the inexplicable Dubai trip.

"The insulting claim of being the 'most affected club' by the pandemic fails to disguise his own neglect and demonstrates a shocking lack of self awareness.

"The Dubai episode has been representative of our season as a whole - short sighted decisions, predictable outcomes, contempt for fans."

The scum fans have this one correct. That apology video really was an absolute parody.

A video that featured the same man that convinced the majority of the SPFL to go against Rangers' request for an investigation to take place. Makes you wonder why the game is in such a state in this country doesn't it?

Why has no one asked what he meant by this Club has been the most affected in what context ,does he mean in Scotland, does he mean by having no supporters or does he mean which we are all thinking that everyone has it in for them and are using COVID as a stick to beat them with except for last Season that is he should be made to explain his comments.

it's probably marginally less embarrassing for him to say nothing rather than admit he's no option but to keep Lennon to the end of the season. Plus he can dress it up a wee bit by blaming the over the top attitude of his own fans.

I don’t want this season to ever end.
I know where you coming from but look how they are still affected by Helicopter Sunday them not achieving 10 in a row will put some of them into a lifetime of desolation they will never recover from.

As a fan I see myself as part of the club and I'm sure many others do. On the other side of the city they see themselves as the owners of the club sitting at the top of the tree and everyone there has a duty to do everything they say to make them happy. With Dermot Desmond, they are more demanding or more or less telling him to get money from his own bank account and throw it at a manager to appease them and make them happy again.

No idea about their contracts or what lennons bonus are etc, dont have a clue about that stuff seems to me petes trying to bolt hes deseprate to find a way out but its the worst time possible to leave with court cases coming up and the team struggling on the pitch in every single game... he does not want to be there and being so arrogant and full of himself hes probably not given this kind of situation any thoughts previously. 10 in his mind was going to be easy any problems sfa/spfl and their friendly refs will deal with it.

Hes lost the media i doubt anyone thought that would happen and aye alright jackson and roger hannah are still behind him not that many others though, who takes these two knobs seriously anyway ? ex players are raging people like keevo that love the control running the game or even ref intimidation have turned.... he has been hurt by the coverage this is the first time PL has ever had to answer serious questions and guess what hes not going too.

Id guess hes also worried about the fans being back at the games as he might be about to find out 250 nuts throwing fences actually speak for tens of thousands of their supporters. The mess he has made, the insane levels of salary hes taken from them for what beating Aberdeen to titles getting into the CL half a dozen times cos of a nice draw or controlling press coverage when most are yahoos anyway. It is incredible and proves how dangerous power and arrogance can be.

I really dont think this is about Lennon this is about buying time so Pete can find a way out of the piggery without upsetting them even more with another poor appointment. He knows in Gerrard Rangers have someone very special that could easily dominate for a long long time no matter where they go next.
