Rangers are confident they have won the fight to keep Leon King.

The Light Blues have worked hard behind the scenes and believe the talented defender is close to signing pro-forms at Ibrox.

They are now confident that King who only turned 16 last month will turn down the advances of Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur to commit his long-term future to Rangers.

King turned down Rangers’ initial offer last month and that saw manager Steven Gerrard personally get involved.

Liverpool, Manchester City and Red Bull Leipzig were a number of the other clubs who have all scouted the talented, young defender in recent weeks.

Rangers are aware of the growing interest.

The Ibrox side have already lost Billy Gilmour to Chelsea and are keen to make sure there is no repeat with King.

Fantastic news. At that age he has a long way to go but it would be demoralising for the Academy staff to lose another of the cream of the crop for peanuts to another EPL talent hoover.

Looking good but until he has officially signed on the dotted line nothing will be taken as signed, sealed and delivered.

Hope this is true - clearly a talented lad. Who knows how his career will pan out but he’s obviously showing a lot of potential. Would be great to hold on to him

He has the potential to play at the highest level, hopefully it will be with us.

Hopefully he does sign, by the sounds of it a great prospect, ultimately we need to start giving these prospects a chance to prosper
