Whether the game goes ahead or not the club will decide along with the family of Walter I would imagine what happens.
I really hope you're wrong Thor but sadly it's a sad world we live inOh they will - the sheep fans are scum!
I agree with the poster above that the Copland Road stand be renamed after Walter. That ceremony, if and when it happens will be a celebration of the man where this would be a great tribute.I know we will only get 1 day prep for it, but tomorrow night I want a show off appreciation from us like we have never seen. For the vast majority in our stadium tomorrow we just lost the single most important person involved with our club in our lifetime.
Ideally Id have every single captain to serve under him to lead the tribute.
I can't count the amount of league and Cup victories secured through adversity under Walter. Off the top of my head, celtc at new year then hibs 3 days later in 9 in a row season, St mirren Cup final, celtc league Cup semi final down to 10 in 8 minutes, celtc league Cup final his last season (I hold him responsible for falling down my own house stairs pished that day) numerous Aberdeen finals for example during our first champions league adventure between wins v celtc and leedsSome of Walter’s most memorable moments were putting Aberdeen to the sword, and I do think he’d have wanted it played. However, I believe we will ask for a postponement.
I’m sure it will mate. Will the game go ahead?
This news has left me distraught, it will have ripped the heart out of the club.
No doubt there will be a fitting tribute like this or similar magnitude when the moment is right. We should rename the Copland or broomloan after him
Did they clear them after Fernando passed? I know it was full of tributes prematch, but didn’t see it after the game.Shit to be thinking about it, but gates are access for emergency services, they need to be clear for game. If tributes go down at gates, they will be moved if game goes ahead. Tough call, personally think it should go ahead
Certainly hope not! I'm flying over in the morning!I think we may ask for a postponement out of respect to his family first of all. And the stadium will be turned into a shrine and rightly so.
The sheep could also cause riots if they ruin the minute silence.

They will the bastards. Its sad that one of the first things I thought was that if the games still on, I really hope Aberdeen wont stoop so low as to interrupt the minute silence.
This mate great shoutWalter Smiths Blue and White Army for pretty much 90 minutes
I undertstand what you're saying, but f*ck having those cretins influence how we proceed. If they disrupt the minutes silence then hell mend them - I'd imagine they would have an ineresting journey homeTheir will be at least one moron in the Aberdeen support who will ruin it for them all, and how Rangers fans respond to it doesn't bear thinking about.
Disgraceful that this would form part of the decision but I believe it will be a factor and may add weight to the game being postponed.
No man is as big as the club but Smith is as close to it as you can get. He may not have wanted the game called off but his passing rips the heart out of the club and it will take long to repair. The game is too close for me.Think that’s the last thing Walter would have wanted.
Totally disagree, be an emotionally charged occasion and it's only right a sold out Ibrox should pay tribute and honour the man by pumping that lotLast thing I feel like Is Football today can only imagine what the club feels personaly I would rather the game doesn't go ahead
Why do you think this? The game should be off, simple as that.
No it shouldn’t do you think Walter would want the game off ? Let’s raise the roof tomorrow in respectThe game should be off, simple as that.
Nobody wants to see Rangers fans becoming embroiled in violence the day after the passing of a club legend. The decision may be made by others.I undertstand what you're saying, but f*ck having those cretins influence how we proceed. No chance mate.Certainly hope not! I'm flying over in the morning!
I actually think the Aberdeen fans will behave - but agree it is high risk given their previousNobody wants to see Rangers fans becoming embroiled in violence the day after the passing of a club legend. The decision may be made by others.
It's practicalities though isn't it? We're not just talking about a few jerseys and scarves tied to the gates here. The outside of the stadium is going to be abdolutely covered in stuff. Plus the work going on at Edmiston House... that area of the stadium isn't going to be passable.the game will be ahead. Id be stunned if the club asked for a postponment
100%.We’re not Yahoos. We shouldn’t seek a postponement and Walter would not have expected us to do so.
I’m with you brother.I think we will get a flawless minutes silence, Walter was not a divisive figure in any way, he was a remarkable man of the same mould as Mr Struth.
I hope it is a minutes silence , I for one will not be applauding this news.
I am devastated, I feel sick.
Agreed. If it’s postponed we could find ourself second in the league with the filth right on our tail. Walter would not have wanted that. We’re not Yahoos. We shouldn’t seek a postponement and Walter would not have expected us to do so.
Has he spoken? I fear this really hits Ally hardMccoist man
Brings you to tears.
No matter your opinion, it's not as simple as that. The game should be off, simple as that.
It definitely should not be but probably will be unfortunately. It'll have to be a minute of applause.
If that match goes ahead, that is.
It only takes one and it escalates. Some of them will be on a bus from 2 or 3pm on the way down. Full of drink.I actually think the Aberdeen fans will behave - but agree it is high risk given their previous
There is not a chance in hell Rangers will sanction a minutes applause for Walter Smith. It definitely should not be but probably will be unfortunately.
No chance will they respect it.It only takes one and it escalates. Some of them will be on a bus from 2 or 3pm on the way down. Full of drink.
Hope you are right mate, really do.There is not a chance in hell Rangers will sanction a minutes applause for Walter Smith.
He was on Talksport. Held it together like a hero.Has he spoken? I fear this really hits Ally hard
No matter your opinion, it's not as simple as that.
Why then?
Yes ... a quite beautiful tribute on talksportHas he spoken? I fear this really hits Ally hard

It’s Aberdeen mate .Its sad that one of the first things I thought was that if the games still on, I really hope Aberdeen wont stoop so low as to interrupt the minute silence.
