Let’s talk about hagi

Yes let's,

Boy has bags of talent, picks out passes and flicks others dont even see, draws fouls gets up and demands the ball time and time again, excellent attitude and team ethic work rate.

I back the lad 100%

Threads like this, and the other one on him few days ago, almost make me glad we have no supporters in stand moaning at him btw

And yes, did lose the ball a few times. Had a few poor touches and got slightly frustrated at himself. But again continued to demand ball, win fouls, link up and almost scored a wonderful goal at the end.

Wasn't his best game but he worked his arse off and dropped in and out of the game at times. The boy will give us more ups than downs this season....... oh and we won 3-0 btw!!!

Poor run of form since the start but has shown he is a good player. He will start to deliver again but the positive is with new arrivals we aren’t reliant on any of our attacking players as we have options.

Guy never hid, wanted more and more of the ball as the game went on. Maybe trying too hard at time. It will come for him if he keeps going. Although I expect Arfield may play instead of him on Sunday

Wasn’t poor but wasn’t great. People are so harsh. He contributed and played some through balls, involved in the second goal.

As for the poor touches, I said it in the match thread, I get the impression he’s worried about his man going through the back of him.

If that is the case.... once he gets over this and adapts to the physical nature of the game here he will be a great player.

Had a poor game yet if Aribo doesn’t stop his run it’s one of the passes of the season.

He just isn’t travelling well with the ball it’s either running away from him or getting stuck under his feet for someone so technically gifted he has to be better but imo he will.

Didn’t have his best game - but he’s a young creative player and there will be times he will struggle with 10 behind the ball and other times he’ll be the one to unlock the door. Can’t be too hard on him. The team won comfortably without shifting out of second gear but there was a few off key performances today which we won’t be able to afford every week.

I counted ten times he gave the ball away tonight

he does some good things but by god he is frustrating to watch

great win onwards and upwards

Would be brilliant if all of our players were on it every week. But that's not how football works. He will come good again. Just look at our LB, it is complete and utter folly to write footballers off after a few poor performances.

Expected.

It's why the coaching staff are trying to give him 90 minutes, whenever possible. Don't think he had played 90 mins, before joining us?

It'll come.

Perfect game to give the ball away 10 times - and learn.

My only concern is his suitability for the 100 mph kicking matches we specialise in in Scotland. Sunday, for example, i could see the game passing him by. Needs to learn to operate in zero space with the possibility of a leg breaker coming his way. Not easy, especially with refs like tonight’s.

I think u will find that at times young player has the tools can only get better, would like to see him bulk up a little also.

Didn't think we had seen enough of him at the time to decide if he was worth a punt. The management who seen him train every day decided they want him so that will do for me.

Said at the time of him signing that he’ll be this seasons Kent. A player who plays good in flashes but not the type who can be relied upon every week
Let's talk about Kent.

Nah, just kidding. :)). Good win tonight and I like the fact Stevie G wasn't happy with the performance once we went up 3-0, although he surely has to take some blame for that after making 4 substitutions at one time. He's allowed to be critical, though, as he should be demanding perfection.

As for us (fans)... We're top of the league and 5 points clear of what will be our closest challengers. Let's enjoy it!

Jeezo here we go again. Can we not just enjoy the win without criticising individual players after every game.

Some of his touches tonight were honking but I'm fully behind him.

He'll do great things for us this season, I'm sure of it.

Genuinely shocked people thought he was poor tonight. He’s only player in our team who makes those 1st touch passes and links the midfield and attack, almost came off a few time for him. He’s going to drift in and out of games, as players if his type do. Worrying that people can’t see what he brings to the team and he’ll only get better.
Not the night to be praising his first touch above the rest of the squad.

not everybody will play well every game last week Alfie was getting it let see how the team settles down i suspect Hagi has a massive part to play this season

I counted ten times he gave the ball away tonight

Touch like an elephant tonight first half. He's the poster boy and maybe taken the pressure of Kent in that regard. Alfie gives us so much more than just goals. Don't agree with the poster above he holds the ball up so well with his strength and rarely wastes a ball. Great to see him smiling and laughing after the substitution.

What do you expect? Gheorghe Hagi? We bought his potential, he is a young guy and not the finished article.

Give him the guy a break. Probably a good thing we don't have supporters in the ground on nights like that, too many want to grumble and groan at everything.

I think he’ll come good, but other than Hibs at Ibrox last season I’m struggling to think of a really good domestic performance from him.

His best stuff has been in Europe, still he isn’t the first player who has taken a little bit of time to adjust to our game.

Ally mccoist suffered fans singing for him to gtf, that's not a myth, that's a fact. Knocked out of the scottish cup in a replay at Ibrox against dundee, I was at the game, it was shameful.

Luckily for the club and the fans he was thick skinned. What a blunder that would have been if he'd decided to piss off elsewhere. A rangers legend would have been lost due to the impatience of our fans.

I'm not even counting last season as it was unreal and to be honest we still live in strange times. Getting onto any of our players after 3 wins, top of the league and 5 points ahead of them, is f**ken ridiculous.

Savour the moment and enjoy it.

Overall he had a poor game but helped us get the 2nd with a nice pass onto Borna

He’s young and will have ups and downs

He was awful and will not stay in the starting line up with performances like that. Can you imagine on here if Andy Halliday had turned the ball over as many times.
Massive improvement needed.
This is it for me. Scottish players would be getting massacred on here for turning the ball over like that tonight repeatedly with that first touch.

I think he’s a great signing who will come good. But we shouldn’t polish a turd. He was murder tonight. Let’s admit it. A seat on the bench on Sunday is probably for the best. We have more quality in the squad and on the bench now and don’t need to persist with flair players who aren’t doing it right now.

Boy will come good, but tonight was one to forget and should start on the bench Sunday.

The trio of Kent, Aribo, and Hagi, are the key to Gerrard's system. So far I'd say it's working. One of these days it's going to work in spectacular fashion when all three click, but up until then I'll hold off on the almost insatiable FF need to slaughter anything less than an 8 out of 10 performance.
