1-1 after first leg, though need a better performance tonight.
 
Remember they had to play the 2nd leg of a European cup game in the Netherlands in the late 70's due to crowd disorder at the 1st leg...

1979. First leg in Dundalk was complete madness. Linfield took thousands down. Amongst the rioting remember one Linfield fan climbing the floodlights, unscrewing the bulbs and throwing them at the gardai.

Dundalk is one of the most bitterest towns in the south.

But this shows how far behind the Irish league is behind the league of Ireland and why an all Ireland league would be no benefit

Tell me about it I live in drogheda and a few years ago Linfield player drogheda utd in drogheda and the two sets of fans got on great.went to the game was in the pub before hand and no bother what so ever until a group of local masks decided to turn up wearing green and grey hooped tops, the Linfield fans just laughed at them and it was the drogheda fans who were telling them to get tae %^*&.dundalk is full of ex Provos and dissident republicans
