Liverpool want 12 million for Kent

From James Pearce at the Liverpool Echo . https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spo...ool-could-generate-100million-player-16281674

Ryan Kent's stock has risen north of the border during his season under the guidance of Kop legend Steven Gerrard at Rangers.
The PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year has kick-started his career after difficult spells with Freiburg and Bristol City last term.
Gerrard is keen to secure his services on a permanent basis but Liverpool's £12million price tag means Kent's future is likely to lie elsewhere.

If there is any truth in that figure then it rules him out of being here next season unless it's on another loan.

They got 20m for Ings, 19m for Solanke and 8m for Kevin Stewart so they're good at getting fees for players. That's not even including Coutinho or Suarez.

Fare thee well young man, its been a pleasure watching you...

....unless of course you fancy another wee loan spell?

Madness.

He’s reasonably entertaining to watch week-to-week but in terms of cold hard numbers he’s not contributing near enough for competitive, men’s football.

Shows how mental the EPL prices are.

Its not down to stats only though is it? Look at the fear he puts into defenders. The space he created for us by Celtic being shit scared of him isn’t measured by stats, but his ability is clear to see.

In the mental English market that would be the asking fee unfortunately.

Get him on loan for another season, we win 55 he has an absolute brilliant performance once again, assists aplenty goals galore and overall superb. Liverpool can sell him for 25M.:)

So much for klopp and Liverpool helping out gerrard, 12 million for a guy they have no interest in keeping really

Men's football?

You suggesting he should sign for Arsenal Ladies?

12m is silly money, sounds like a made up journalist number rather than what Liverpool really would accept.

If we've turned him into a player of that value Liverpool should give us a cut of the £12m they get for him.

At worst it shows not just Liverpool but other EPL clubs how we can develop players and enhance their value (something the mockits have actually been getting criticism for not doing lately).

Where did this £12 million fee come from ? It was a rumoured fee from one media outlet and the rest have went with it.

Journalism at it's rank rotten finest.

Excellent player but too expensive for us.

However, there is an upside, if he is sold for that kind of money it will make it an easy sell for us to be attractive for fantastic young talent to be loaned to us.

Too risky on one player

If he got injured, which lets face it most of our creative players in the last few years have subject to horrendous tackles, it would make us all sick and question the strategy

My limit on Kent is half that. I do believe he's worth it considering hes got a bit of a track record and how well he settled in.

There will be English teams that will pay that. Now it’s over to Allen/Gerrard to find someone in our price range that is as good

I also like the mindset on here that AM is easily worth 20M but Kent isn't worth 12M.....

Both will be worth what their clubs want for them and what is offered for them.

You're right, and I think that Kent is worth it to the extent if he was out player that's what we'd be asking for.

I think people's reaction is based more on the knowledge rangers cant and won't pay that.

Not just cause the valuation is that generally, doesn't mean its the Gerrard price. Could easily be a buy back clause or sell on clause that would reduce the price, to help the man destined to eventually manage them succeed at rangers.
