Louden Tavern Food Bank Appeal

Hope this is okay to post:

We are asking for help to support a food bank drive on Saturday 4th December, by either donating non perishable food or via Just Giving.

Please give it a thought and let’s make someones life a bit better, even if only for a short time.

Are this couple claiming all the benefits they are entitled to claim as even though people are working there are still benefits they can claim? It may also be an idea to have information online for the families that you are trying to help as sometimes people just don't know they are entitled to some extra help..

In Scotland for example families with kids under 6yrs old can also claim an extra £10 pw for each child so that an extra £40 per month for each child under 6 yrs old. This doesn't seem a lot but its on top of the other benefits available for children and only available in Scotland

This can also be claimed online and can be backdated

This site also helps people calculate exactly what benefits they should be receiving

Always have the car and the wee man with me so rarely have the enjoyment of having a few in the Louden.

Will there be somewhere to drop anything off outside?

Fantastic to see the Rangers family contribute to such a good cause. I know the Lanzarote Loyal RSC contributed £750 to Loaves & Fishes in East Kilbride last Christmas and the same amount to the Sister Ana refuge charity on the island. They will again be distributing similar goodwill this year. RSCs across the world will also be doing great work to help those less fortunate. We don't do it for the kudos, which is just as well, since we're demonised by the Scottish media. No matter. Those who benefit from our generosity truly appreciate it.

If anyone wants to feel a bit better and help some less fortunate human beings, we have kept this open and are now going to try and reach £2000

Thanks for that, but it was a report on tv

Friday night reminder for our appeal and if anyone wants to hand in any nonperishable food, we will be taking them at the Beer Garden entrance at the side of The Louden

Many thanks to everyone who handed in food today at the Louden
Special mention to the Ronnie Bayne of the Glenrothes True Blues
who kindly handed in Fifty pounds
We are now just over two thousand pounds and will be announcing a few things for auction this week and hopefully get it up to three thousand pounds
Thanks again
