Lowry after his assist at the weekend

I love how Beale's cryptic comments about Lowry ("would you pick you?" etc) are now considered gospel, namely Lowry has an attitude and application problem.

So, what's the issue with Devine, Rice, Lovelace? They don't get picked either.
The Lowry attitude problem has been rumoured well before Beale said that.

So, that's my point. We're working off rumours. Facts are needed.
It’s came from people who know things from the club too. Did you not see Empires post with a few examples of his attitude?

One of the worst for me was refusing to go play for Scotland because he wanted to go on holiday with his mates. That’s not the attitude of someone who will ever become a top player.

I am surprised by how unpopular he is but i dont see any reason why we would not bring him back and get him involved at the end of the year.

Not as if we are going to be buying loads of new players with a caretaker manager and a league title that will probably be over by then, if its not already. Good chance for some younger players to show they can step up.
I am not sure he is that unpopular, i think it is just 99.99% (if not 100%) of people on here would give their right arm to have his talent and opportunity however it is his attitude and cockiness that continues to be what you hear about, rather than his hunger and desire to play 90 minutes.
As a club, and all i was joking about, was we will quite happily pay millions for an unknown foreigner rather than give our Academy players a chance.
Beale's sacking shows the sheer pressure and high expectations which are involved with Rangers, so taking a gamble on a youngster is suddenly a luxury they can't afford. If we could start finishing teams off at half time, we could start the introduction of them, but until then, they don't have much of a chance.
The Lowland League was maybe a crock of sh1t but at least they were all getting regular runs out in competitive matches. Now it is glamour friendlies at best.

This loan looks like it could be the making of him, there will be people that say why did we let him go/bring him back but that would be counter productive. We could be getting a totally different player back next season I just hope he comes back with the correct attitude and in good shape after the summer break ready to prove a point
I hope that happens. if it does though, what does it say about the coaching / developement at Ibrox?

I did see that post. There were just 2 examples of his attitude - not cleaning up after a game and that one you cite about not playing for Scotland. No idea what his motivation was for those but it's a tiny snippet into his character with a lot of assumptions being made as it gets passed on as info on here.

He was named in the u21 squad yesterday so must not have burnt all his bridges. Let's hope he hadn't already booked a wee weekend away!

I went to a Scotland U21 game a while back and he looked like he couldn’t be arsed, had a few nice passes and jogged about a lot. Compare it with Ben Doak in the same game who gave 110% the whole game, probably one of the reasons why one is warming the Hearts bench and one is getting 1st team football at Liverpool.

Naismith's most recent comments are that he is applying himself off the ball and that he is playing himself into a starting role. Not exactly the most scathing criticism I've ever heard...

I always think the most important criticism a player can receive is to start the game on the bench or out of the matchday squad altogether.

When that happens, you have to have a bit of introspection. Hopefully it's sinking in to Lowry now that he finds himself, yet again, on the bench.

Just moving the goalposts with irrelevant negativity about the lad because you've already made up your mind. Exactly what people mean about his bizarre perception on here.

He's not yet starting for Hearts but is coming on and making a difference, scored the winner against Killie in the cup and set up the winner with a brilliant assist at the weekend. Why would you want to spin that as "warming the bench"?

It's been a good loan for him so far. Started well, hit a bit of a dip and now back with a big impact the last couple of weeks.

I would love the midfielders at Rangers to come under the same scrutiny as young Lowry. Needs to do more off the ball is trotted out all the time. Did anyone watch Cifuentes at the sheep's first goal on Saturday?

I would rather have someone in the team that can unlock a defence or score goals from midfield than graft back all the time. If you have a midfield 3 the other 2 can be water carriers. We're crying out for some creativity in this f^*king team.

Because he was starting for Hearts until he was taken off at halftime against Motherwell and hasn’t started a game in the 4 since then. How else can you spin that?

He only has a chance at Rangers if he shows he has the attitude and work rate to get into that Hearts team and stand out. At the moment he is showing moments but not doing enough off the ball, Naismith has said as much.

Why are you reducing anything he’s done well off the bench down to “not starting”?

Naismith has said he has been pleased with what he’s doing off the ball in his recent appearances, why construe that as him not doing enough?

Difference being it wasn't only Beale who had questioned his attitude previously and that includes senior players.

Anyway that was done to death on the previous thread, I'm delighted to see he is starting to do well. Really hope he can come back flying and make it with us.

It was true anyone who watches him play knows it’s due to not working off the ball for the team.

Lovelace and Rice are only 17 and Devine isn’t good enough.

Only my opinion, I think Devine is good enough. He has only played well when selected.

Yet Beale goes out and purchases Sterling, who has done nothing in his career except played for Beales under 18 team at Chelsea and finds himself on the bench for Rangers hoovering up decent wages.

Beale is clueless.

He got an assist from a deep cross. Our team try that constantly and get nothing.
His goal at Killie was sublime.
Bring him back and give him a decent amount of game time. This season is pretty much a write off anyway.
I just hope we can bag the league cup.

If he's there and producing while also having the coaching applied to the areas he lacks then he should come back a better player for it and will end up being a successful loan all round.

Agreed I like his bravery to try things as well just needs to get his finger out off the ball.

Hopefully goal and assist this week kicks on and establishes himself in the starting 11 at hearts for the rest of the season then comes back raring to go.
Think that's a spot on assessment.
