Malmo Away travel & info thread

Anyone else get grief walking back in to town after the game ?

3 different lots tried to have a go at us but we stayed in a group and got back safely.

Police sent us on a different route to the one we walked to the game and it took about double the time.

I got followed for a bit by about 6 or 7 c***s in all black walking to Trianglen station

Followed the advice given to me by the police to get there and was told I would there would be a crowd walking with me, his route was fine according to maps however very quickly ended up on my own but was all good in the end

We got there with no issues however there were Rangers supporters arriving later at the station coming down to the platform saying they were getting followed

We were in the Mascot boozer.
Malmö FF pub, full of normal fans and around 20/30 dressed in black. Dissapeared at 16:30, looked as though they were heading to Triangeln to meet the march to the stadium.

Got into the away end from the home end after some lads were getting moved from corporate What a night, what a trip, f the Celtic and the Malmo. Safe trip home to everyone travelling today I’m home tomorrow from Copenhagen on the 6:00 to EDI. Day in Copenhagen to explore if anyone is still here and wants a catch up or any recommendations let me know

I used Apple Maps to get back to my hotel. I was directed down some back streets and was on my own most of the route. No issues thankfully.

We got a scarf and jacket taken from us by a group of “ultras” on the walk back to the centre. Luckily they gave back the jacket after realising it wasn’t a rangers jacket as it had the guys wallet and passport in it!

Immediately hailed down a taxi straight after as you could tell that wouldn’t be the only occurrence.

Thought it was common courtesy not to go for “scarfers”. It’s a shame cause I thought the people of Malmö were pretty sound.

We walked up the road a bit and caught a number 10 bus back to the centre. Never saw any bother but it was mostly our fans at that side

Nah , we'd just got a taxi before 2 malmo fans in the city centre so offered them a lift to the stadium which we paid , they insisted to buy us beers back for the taxi so took us in behind the Malmo end where their fans have a beer garden type set up where we had a beer and a chinwag for about 30 minutes amongst about 1000 malmo fans

Got home at 9am this morning after getting the sore 6.15am flight back to Edinburgh but f**k me it was worth it.

Said it on another thread but that away end last night is right up there with the best I've been in away in Europe, for me it matches Leipzig in terms of noise and wildness in the stands but this time got two goals to go mental over. Absolutely unreal from the 1000+ troops in the away end.

Ibroxonia and Londonderry on the Foyle has again raised the bar in our away support, two songs that are longer than our usual types but have caught on like wild fire. Only going to get better.

Roll on Lyon next week.

Was on the same flight. The drive home after landing at Edi was rough.

Great trip all in. Not even the biblical rain could put a dampner on it. Atmosphere in the away end was top notch. If only our home support could get behind Ibroxonia, how good Ibrox could sound.

Think I'll need the months rest to get ready for Athens :)

Sorry to hear you had a few problems mate.
I walked back after the game on my own & fortunately didn't have any hassle. Stopped off in the Scandic hotel for a quick top up, before heading back to the Drumbar again.
Hopefully we'll manage to catch up on another trip. It's been a while.

Thanks pal, it never came to anything but we stuck together so they might have thought better. I’ll be in Athens and Nice if you’re going to either of them ?

Be good to see you.

Delayed flight back to Manchester last night, and a cancelled train up the road, ended up on the megabus with a few other guys on the same route.

Great trip - one of the best, ready to do it all again for Athens and Nice soon.

On the issue of scarves etc being stolen, in some places your automatically a target if your wearing Rangers colours, I seen at least 3 folk with silk scarves tied round their luggage bags alone walking through Copenhagen airport.

We got back into Manchester on time but then got stuck on the M74 for 2 and a half hours with the accident at Abington,
