I took the wean at his request to old Trafford last weekend for the west ham game and then went on the tour the following day which includes museum entry which is on three levels

For 9hrs on the Sunday there was a tour every ten mins with 30 people per tour

Adults £25
Kids £15

On our tour there was 24 adults and 6 kids
£690

Six tours and hour
£690 x 6
£4,140

9am - 5pm
£4,140 x 8

£33,120

The tour then concludes in their megastore where folk were spending a fortune

Just think
30 years ago we were a bigger club than Man United.

Rangers need to think sooooo much bigger

Said it many times on here, Old Trafford is the best stadium tour I’ve been on due to the museum part. Absolutely stacked with information and memorabilia. I know they don’t have a lot of love on here, and I’m sure the feelings mutual (personally don’t care one way or the other about them), but I seen a lot of similarities with ourselves. Proper football club and you can’t help but appreciate how good their ground is. Would love us to do something like this.

we need to get far more professional with our stadium tours, just go onto Expedia and look up Glasgow activities and you’ll see. The mhanks have regular tours on the hour and advertise them we do bugger all.
That said we are not Man U and don’t have the international reputation that Sky and the EPL have created.

Serious question, in what way were we bigger?

Expecting Rangers to compete with Man United in 2019 is crazy talk
I m not asking us to compete merely to raise our game.
Look at the crowd we took to the Europa Final in 2008
Our domestic fanbase is outrageous

A few years ago, I was asked by a pal to book a tour online at Old Trafford for him and his son. I did so and they said it was really good. Unfortunately, I still get all sorts of e mails from them about all the shite I have no interest in.
Imagine, they think I am one of them - how fuckin' embarrassing is that?

That's because ours are sold out, so no need to sell yours or pay for advertisement. Hopefully with expansion/museum and more staff we can have more tours

We had European football, they didn’t! Premiership never existed.

We were a more attractive proposition. Globalisation hadnt really started either

This is a relevant point that has substance the European issue was massive bonus for us during the Souness revelation for a start we could attract players other English clubs could not just on this one fact you correctly make

The fan base needs so be more commercialised the ones that are abroad or even in the UK that don’t go to matches sad to say the dhims have this very well run your point on 2008 is correct

Did the old trafford tour last year really enjoyed it.as OP said its every 10 mins but we had a chinese tour guide who could barely speak english telling us facts about man u u could just google kind of summed up english football.i know its different scale but when u do Ibrox tour it feels a lot more personal and u can tell the tour guides love there job and have a genuine love for the club.

Don't forget the KFC ! ;)

If I remember correctly, this is what convinced Butcher to come to us rather than Man U.

Correct we where bigger then Manchester United back then In every way commercialsy off the park and like you say we could attract England’s best players Chris Woods Terry butcher to name but two of them.

Even our shop catalogues and main Rangers shop on Copland Rd was bigger than anything they could offer for ten seasons or at least we matched them in turn over,

Would be interested if where any sales figures available from that period OP

Plenty pics here of just what we had available

I love Man Utd and have many utd friends in Salford that love the teddy bears. Great stadium tour and love the penalty kick part of the tour.
