Why do people think we can only afford to pay managers peanuts? We’ve spent an average of about 13-15m per year on transfers for the last few seasons. Surely we are better off paying well for a manager who can get a team going, rather than going for the cheapest option then giving them another £15m to waste.

Fair enough I’d say we can’t afford £6m or so if this guy wants that, but there’s no way we can’t afford £2-3m per year. Just get annoyed with people saying we can only pay a few hundred grand a year, it’s obviously not the case.
