Was that game needing someone like him to come on today for the last 15 or so and help see the game out? His ball retention and also tough tackling and graft? Seemed he had played well as deputy at RB when tav was out and surely could have been a more suitable than the likes of Ojo on the bench when we already had barker and Stewart and kamberi as forward options?

Certainly a better option than the likes of Kamara just now but would be be in the team ahead of Arfield Jack or Aribo? Probably not.

I agree he is a player who should be getting more game time,he is a solid unit and ideal to stiffen up the midfield.

I can see where your coming from but the stark reality is we shouldn't have been seeing the game out. We should have kept 2 up top and banged in a 3rd and 4th.

Didn’t need anyone on the ball.

Davis proved that. We needed height, physicality and bite.

Katic and Goldson wondering into midfield to win headers need to stop. They’re shite at reading it.

We needed to keep a hold of the ball. If we have it we can't concede.

That sounds like what the manager tells the players before they go out. Unfortunately they think it means play lots of pointless passes across the pitch and backwards until someone makes an arse of it.
This lot aren't good enough to control games like that.

Strange he's dropped completely out of the squad.

Polster is what he is a utility player who is basically a very cheap squad player who can cover a few roles and that's about it.

He wouldn't make a difference to this current team neither would any of our fringe players for that matter before the usual onslaught of threads appearing for certain players to be given a run out.

Andy Halliday doesn't have a problem getting in the squad

It’s a good point, I’d forgotten all about him. Got to be more worthy of a bench spot than a Barker and Ojo.

If we don't have an attacking midfielder get polster in at right back and tav in midfield coz he tends to bound forward anyway so try him out there. He has been effective on a good few occasions.

Tbh he does have a lot to feel hard done by because Tav has still been utter shite since he came back in.

Not a bad shout but to repeat the old mantra, ‘we should be beating these teams regardless’.

He's just not very good and yet another player that seems to get better the longer he is out of the team.

It's the same with Stewart.

You could have put 8 midfielders on it would have been no good... They were punting high balls into the centre of our defence who were struggling to cope with it.. Their manager noticed it, ours didn’t.

He’s got a right to feel hard done by considering he didn’t do too much wrong when he played and hasn’t had a sniff since
That story is far to familiar with a number of players this is why there possibly is a split in the camp there’s players that just won’t get dropped and others that come in Stewart, kamberi and Polster do well but don’t get another sniff.

What could Polster have done to stop Katic and Goldson making an absolute rip-roaring c*nt of clearing the high ball, then conceding the corner then failing to clear that?

Edmundson on and switch to 3/5 at the back was the answer that the manager appeared to miss.

Feel for the lad. When called on has been good in whatever roll, full back or midfield. Unfortunately Tavernier is first pick.

Another who has become a superstar through his absence.

Not at this end.

Argued from the moment he left that we didn’t have a viable alternative in that space. We have lots of little ball players - we have no one to enforce.

Sheep away, Ferguson pulled them back into the game. We couldn’t stamp it out.

We need a different option away from home against hammer throwers. He’s limited on the ball, but he’s strong, fast and hard tackling. His height also makes a big difference in winning first balls.
