Michael Bridge talks rangers transfers on sky sports

In the SPL a player is only good business once you actually get them sold for a lot more than you paid for. You can't say Kamara has been good business until we actually sell him.
The signing of Kamara was an exceptional bit of business, a player of his quality would usually cost millions,:we got him for 50 grand

What the %^*&?! So was Brian Laudrup not good business? Was Ally McCoist? Andy Gorum? Richard Gough? Give yourself a shake mate, you've had a mare.

In fact we have had some more than decent players from Dundee for peanuts, off the top of my head, Canigia, Novo and Kamara. :)

Who was the last player we actually sold for a significant profit?

Looking back through the transfers we sold Jelavić for £5m and bought him for £4m so a £1m profit, but he was on about £20k per week so would have cost around £2m in wages in the time he was here so that one might work out as a loss from totally buisness point of view.

We would have made money selling Lewis Ferguson for £850k in 2015, he would have been on low wages.
Boumsong for £8m wasn’t a bad profit.

Profit and good business are hugely different bud.

Now you're talking about Lewis Ferguson.
You really need to step away from the keyboard.

We could really get miles in front if we play our cards right

Bringing in young players on a bargain is definitely a solid strategy while they flail around and pick up the next Duffy or Barkas, throwing multi-millions down the drain in the process

Also we have the benefit of having just seen a class guide from them on the easiest way to %^*& up from a position of strength, so hopefully we at least dont do that
100%. If we see a young player really develop and sell him, let's say, back to England, we could make a fortune. We don't need to get every single one of them right, but one or two would make a huge difference to the balance sheet.

I was feeling sorry for the pounding South coast was getting until the last two comments.

Doubling down on a retarded statement and actually believing it.

Poor fella will never enjoy anything unless there is a profit to be made, must hate going out for dinner and trying to sell his shite the next day.

Due respect mate but that is nonsence.

We get a great game out of him for 80-90% of his appearances. And his quality is head and shoulders above most other premiership midfielders.

I say that`s outstanding value.

I don't do Facebook, but what I do like about the comments after the video is Michael Bridge coming on to acknowledge people's comments and that is to be commended.

Kamara has been a great signing from a footballing perspective, but you can't really say it has been great business until we actually sell him for a high price.

There is so little money in the SPL shirt sales and TV money probably hardly covers players wages.

Boumsong is a great piece of business that springs to mind, signed for free and sold months later for £8m.

We bought Alex McDonald from St Johnstone in 1968, a year before Colin Stein who both were brilliant in my eyes but up until CS wanted away there was no chance of selling him.

Same applies to Glen Kamara, once he wants to go it'll be for more than 50 grand.

Hawd the boat. So Larsson bought for 350k or whatever it was, arguably their best player of all time but he left on a bosman to Barca. They recouped £0.00 for him. So by your logic, he wasn't good business?

We would have made money selling Lewis Macleod for £850k in 2015, he would have been on low wages.
Josh Windass, bought for £100k, sold for £2.5 million. Declan John, signed for nowt, sold to Swansea for £1 million Waghorn bought for £250k and sold for £1 million quid to Ipswich, Polster signed as a free agent and sold for £350k to the MLS. Not big fees but absolutely significant profit, which seems to be your barometer for a successful transfer in Scottish football
