I don't think the two are necessarily related. Fact is there are two players ahead of Wallace for his position and to include Wallace would simply be taking up a squad place unnecessarily. Best it is utilised for someone who may actually see some game time.

Calling a man who stepped up after two managerial failures a stain on our club isn’t right, in my opinion. We all know his failings, and weaknesses, as a manager but I feel it’s harsh to say he’s never welcome back.

There could be more than one reason why their appeals were upheld. Sometimes that is due to flawed procedures. Premature to suggest that Murty should be let go. The reasons for the appeals being upheld will be submitted in writing and it will only be after further consideration of the reasons given will any decisions be taken.
