Missing Rangers fan

Nearly 2 week since he was last seen.

It’s been said before but I’ll say it again his family and friends must be going through hell.

With social media these days I can’t understand how or why he hasn’t been seen.

I didn’t post a rumour with content but I appreciate the need to take it down 100%.

Tremendous wee guy.

Horrible to keep looking in and seeing no new update. Can't imagine what his family are going through.

If you wanted to disappear for a while and get your head straight, you could get a fair distance up that canal path overnight before anyone noticed. Could literally be anywhere in the U.K now. Hopefully that's all the boy's done and will be in touch with someone when he's ready.

Seen posters in the shop down from my house in Camelon, Falkirk. It’s 2 minutes walk from the wheel which has high footfall traffic so hopefully anyone who has even been in the area and seen him might just get a reminder.

Thoughts are with his family and friends.

Like everyone else you come here hoping for positive news but when on you begin to clutch at straws.

Is it possible to review previous days footage of CCTV to see if he has looked around to plan an "escape" route that would not be picked up?

It may give some clue as to initial direction.

As I say, clutching.

Bump.

Woke up this morning here in Australia and hoped to see news that he had been found safe. Have done so every morning since this happened.

Thoughts are with his family and friends to stay strong and ready for him coming home.

I think that’s more or less what most of us are doing @barcode
And it’s horrible when there is still no news on what has happened to our fellow Bear.

New CCTV images released of Gregor at 10:20pm on the canal path at Twechar, looks like he is jogging

He is again spotted on CCTV at 10:50pm in Kilsyth

Police have published CCTV stills of him walking on the canal near Twechar/Kilsyth

RE-APPEAL FOR INFORMATION
MISSING MAN GREGOR GIBBONS

Officers carrying out extensive enquiries to trace 32-year-old Gregor Gibbons, who has been missing from his home in the Springburn area of Glasgow, are re-appealing for any information on his whereabouts and issuing a further CCTV image two weeks on from when he was last seen.

The CCTV image was taken at 10.20pm on Tuesday 2 July 2019 and shows Gregor walking eastbound on the Forth and Clyde Canal path at Twechar Bridge in Kilsyth. Officers are carrying out enquiries in that area today, and searches are being carried out in the canal by the Dive and Marine Unit. Officers are keen to speak to anyone who was on the path that evening who may remember seeing Gregor.
Following our previous appeals, a number of people reported seeing Gregor walking on the canal path between 8pm and 10pm on Tuesday 2nd July. The sightings were at Bishopbriggs heading towards Kilsyth and in the Twechar area of the path. He is also seen on CCTV near to the Auchinstarry Marina in Kilsyth around 10.50pm the same night. There have been further unconfirmed sightings in the Falkirk area and officers are liaising with their colleagues in Forth Valley Division regarding these.
Gregor is described as white, around 5ft 5 inches in height and of slim build with very short dark hair. When he was last seen he was wearing a black Nike hooded top, black shorts and black trainers.
Chief Inspector Scott McCarren of Maryhill Police Office said: “We are extremely concerned for Gregor as he has never been missing before and there are no confirmed sightings of him since Tuesday 2nd July. Gregor’s family are absolutely devastated by his disappearance as it is completely out of character for him not to keep in contact with his family and friends.
“Local officers carried out a stop and speak operation on the canal path near to Twechar Bridge last night which was exactly two weeks on from when he was last seen there
“Since Gregor was reported missing, we have been doing everything we can to find him. We have followed up a number of sightings that have been reported and spoken to people in each of the areas where he was seen. We’ve also gathered and viewed hours of CCTV footage to date. Officers have been assisted by specialist search advisors, the Dive and Marine Unit, and the dog unit throughout this enquiry.
“I would again appeal to anyone who has any information about Gregor to contact Maryhill Police Station through 101 quoting incident number 0119 of 3 July 2019.

Don't know how to share a specific Facebook post

Prayers for the lad and his family . i don’t know them personally but know a lot of good bears from the woodhill area of bishopbriggs , and they are all devastated by this . Just hope for some positive news .

Absolutely awful for family and friends of this chap, can’t for a moment imagine the distress of folk who are related and know the guy.

Let’s hope for some good news soon for family and friends and a safe return home for this bear.

Not too familiar with the area but if he's went a jog and he's at Kilsyth at 10.50pm, how long would it take to get back to his car in Maryhill?

I don't know the area too well but I thought it was far and seems 15 miles is that right?

I assume this is after he was last spotted in Maryhill? It seems a long way to jog unless he was known for it. Seeing that gives me hope that he may be hiding out somewhere.

Was a few in the Post Office in Grangemouth also when I was in on Monday.

For some unknown reason i've had that gut feeling for a while.

I pray its right

If he is hiding out somewhere I’d imagine it’d be in some farm barn or abandoned shelter place.

Plenty of farms / fields out that way is there not?

It’s a positive step mate, you would like to think there’s more cctv images to come.
As I posted a few pages back, it’s not as far as people think especially for someone as active as wee Gibby. Wish this CCTV had been checked earlier.

Be interested to know where in Kilsyth he was logged. After the boathouse would suggest he’s not turned up towards Croy for a Train.

I cycle from Kilsyth to my work in Govan and it's around 12 miles from where the picture was taken.

I hope he’s OK, simply taking some time for himself and will find his way back to his family soon. Awful for his family, I feel for them. Just want to see this thread bumped with some good news like everyone else on here.

It’s about 9 miles from Maryhill and fairly flat. Easily walkable in 3 hours

Bump.

First time I’ve read this thread properly and can’t add any more than has already been said. Just come home to those who love you so dearly if you’re out there running from something you think is unfixable.

There are a multitude of reasons he might have ran. I have been in GA for about 18 months now but when I was actively gambling, my problems always seemed huge and I thought on more than one occasion about trying to run from my problems. Now, my life is well on track with a little help from others.

If you’re reading this, whatever has happened, just come home!
