My Gers/European Tickets

Hey all, I am wondering if someone can help me.

Last season I went to about ten games, half eeee me buying general sale, others were euro matches and Fenerbache I got off general sale. Anyway I have a friend who has a season ticket with his son and offered me that seat as he isn't going to games (lives in Dubai) so that's great. Got offered his son's half season ticket with his mate so that would have been 9 games and old firm. Wanted to take that but it was 400 quid and to pay that outright and also not guarantee I can make every game would be annoying. Id also have to turn purchase the euro seat and would have almost no say in whether or not I got one as I am not the account holder and I'd rely on him ensuring he bought the seat. So I said no for this season.

Anyway, I want to grab the pana game and also maybe a few early doors spl games and then from there take it as it comes, also I want to try and hit as much euro games as possible. Last season I got 5 which was great.

However I don't have my Gers. Should I bite the bullet and just buy my Gers? I know £50 isn't a alot to most, but this a decent amount for me, it's one ticket price basically.

I like being able to dip in and out when I can and I feel 10 games is still a strong supporter, and I wanna aim for the below

1 game a month either spl, cup games or euro games. Get a mix in there and one game a month is absolutely fine. No reason why I cannot stick to that.

But I'm still reluctant on buying the my Gers and keep mentally avoiding it.

What's your thoughts all? Will it almost guarantee me single seats? I am very happy to d single seats and go myself. I would adopt the mind set of

" I'll wait and see if my mate offers me the seat before my Gers sale, if he doesn't then I will go ahead and buy one through my Gers and that will be it, so really I'll wait to see if he offers me the ticket during the season ticket purchasing phase and then if no offer just go ahead and buy.

I turned down an old firm game, I haven't been and honestly I should have just paid the £400 for that alone, but I'm only 38, I wanted to do another season and see if I've still got the desire to go as much as I have been.

I live 1 hour 20 minutes away, if I was local it would have been yes I'll find the money.

He sits in MRE literally just under the TV broadcast thingy, and a few rows up from the chairmans box... Perfect seats. I know I'll defo get a few euro games off him but I also don't like relying.

I've been a rangers man since maybe age 12, now 38 and also I do pitch up and give my local Raith Rovers a few games here and there as I grew up with them, my old man took me to the games during the rovers glory years. We had season tickets, great fun, but rangers stole my heart around the age of 12 and I was at most games. However life happens and then I only recently started making an effort to start following again and I really love it.

That's my story

£400 quid for every league game you can make
Or
£500 for 10 League or Euro games
You could technically watch up to 19 home games and still spend £100 for 2 Euro games?
Think the net win would be your mates offer.
Could be wrong but I'd say if tickets are available after ST holders and cccs are applied mygers won't make much difference to tickets being available generally

Nah 420 for the 9 home games. Half a season ticket basically. The full one is 800. I turned it down as id then be going to Europe games if I can and maybe 3 or 4 I'm then more. Effectively I felt it was too much in one go and turned it down.

Now I feel annoyed...if he offers it again next season I won't say no.

So for now it's a case of me finding the best way to get tickets for games.

Sorry need to add. To use seat sub id need to be my Gers then? So really general sale probably won't be a thing now at all, even my Gers as there was 98 percent renewal and only like a few thousand getting sold out that people turned down?

I kind of just don't understand it. I know euro games means season ticket have to buy their seats, so there's more chance of getting one maybe on my Gers?

As a single seat person who will sit himself, I was hoping my plan would be good.

Id also hope that I could get to a few games like Motherwell, killie who ever at home no issues.

I'm trying to navigate a mind field it seems.

I bought three tickets via website this season, Hibs, Aberdeen and Fenerbache. All single seats. They were all general sale as well.

I kind of need guided.

My mate said he will definitely not go to every game anyway, so I will always get one or two as he will give me his seat straight away, and id assume that applies for euro games as well. However I wanna get to the panathanikos game and really hope if I my Gers work, I will maybe get a single seat? I just wanna see my fucking team man.

I love the night games, so will grab a cup game or some shit now and again anaw.

I mean I'm paying 50 notes to go on the waiting list really, that's it.

What's my odds on a single seat? I feel even those will go as well.

It sucks when you see empty seats.

I need a plan

Club brugge as well, assuming that will not be an issue? First game, wanna see what Russel does

I should have just said yeah to my mate and then worried about money and what ever later.

But as a family man I was thinking about money lol

To answer 1 of your points, you won't struggle for a Panathanaikos ticket. There will definitely be a public sale

Is there a supporters club where you are ? If you go consistently they’ll sort you for most games .

There is tickets outside the ground every game for sale, I've never once not seen a ticket for sale outside, obviously some games there is more tickets for sale than others usually due to who the opposition is.

So i am good to and assume if I buy my Gers I'll get a Pana ticket?

Single seat as long as I log in, or are you saying tickets will still be available after my Gers window?

Seat sub means season ticket holders release their seats and then it becomes available in what ever window is open? My Gers, general etc right? There's no seat sub specific place to buy on the website.

And euro games the chance is better due to season ticket holders not buying their seats, so that's when my Gers matters?

Can I ask mate, how did people originally get season tickets in the years prior?

Would it not be a good idea to like every year just have a ballot or some shit? Or first come first serve? I miss those days
It won’t sell out. Still be a huge crowd but it’s in the middle of the summer so a lot of people won’t be he

Best advice. Get mygers and buy tickets for the games you want. You will have the advantage of buying in the MyGers window and will build up your points which will be required if you ever want to get your own season ticket.

Bloody hell mate did you enable verbose mode this morning?
I've got a raging hangover, could you switch on your summary setting?

17:00 kick off, that will help my case to grab a ticket then as long as I have my Gers?

I'm going to buy it anyway, %^*& it, even if I only get a few games through the season off it at least I'm on the waiting list for a single season ticket and can just stay there and that's it.

Pro(s)

There’s more chance of a ticket with mygers than without. Or at the very least they’re on sale for mygers members first. You’ll also build up points and can join the season ticket waiting list should you want one at some point.

Con(s)

It’s extra cash to join as you’ve mentioned and you could also fall into the trap of being tempted to buy extras like women’s season ticket/tickets for games you’ve no intention of attending/rangers tv etc to get more points. Therefor costing yourself even more. It’s not a loyalty scheme, it’s a cash grab. If you can accept that then it works well enough

Simple as that really.

On the pros, did I not read you actually collect points even if not in myGers ie.you could collect enough points over the years until you have enough for a ST offer then join myGers?
I wondered how that worked.Do you get a Rangers number by creating an account and buying online?

Yes. It would take a bit longer to build up points though as not all games go to general sale so you’d probably miss more games. You also accrue points for purchasing and then renewing mygers.

You get a rangers number even without my Gers. I've got a bit of points from general sale

Aye true enough.Think it's a bit crap that non ST holders actually pay more for myGers and don't get same benefits.

Update - I upgraded to my Gers. Fcuk it, only 50 notes, I'm sure I'll get to a few games and this will make it nice and easy and I'll realize that, plus can even go on the waiting list.

Im going to be totally honest, deep down im just upset I won't get a welcome pack.

I WANTED A WELCOME PACK FOR MY OFFICE/MAN CAVE

How do you mean accrue? So if I renew again next season my points get increased? Id imagine by the end of the season is he about 100 points, and then renew and then maybe a rangers TV subscription just cancel after one month would still give me those points right?

I'm a single seat guy, so id wanna hope one day id get one.

If I ever got a chance at a single seat, id keep it for a year or two and then see where I am at

Personally I like the my Gers as I can pick and chose games and I'm not local so it's always going to be mental travelling.

Rangers TV is an annual subscription for points.

Why not join a local RSC?

Yes it’s 30 points for joining mygers then the same each year when you renew. 5 points per game attended in the league, 5 per ticket bought for non league games. Rtv, womens team season ticket etc all worth points as well.

You get a 30 day trial. What if you buy the annual

Well update

My Gers can go %^*& itself. Never thought a friendly vs brugge would sell out. Maybe it's because it's 4 tickets per account and scalpers got them.

Never had an issue even on general sale for single seats so totally confused now.

Hopefully it won't be that way and it will be back to usual, like one ticket per my Gers?

Can anyone enlighten me as to if I just got bumped out of 50 quid?

Aye I logged on at 1030 but I never thought a friendly would be that bad, even at 4 tickets per person

Aw well, disheartening that's for sure.

Failed at the first hurdle lads

Cheers for letting us know, keep us updated on how you get on

I'm back!

Panathanikos tickets on sale next Thursday for my Gers members.

Is this going to be straight forward to grab a seat?

Like will it surpass the whole week and make it to general sale as well?

Is there a '1 ticket per my Gers membership?
