Never gets old Alex Miller screamer

Popped up on my youttube. Made even better by Wille Johnston's piss take at the shy.

This is in the big bucket of games I was too wee to have been at, but that Rangers end looks magnificent and brings memories of my first few visits to the sty.

My auld pops was there.

So was mine.

Me n my brother were about 10/11 yrs old and left as soon as the goal went in. Found out the next day fans had stayed nearly 30mins after final whistle celebrating; was sick at missing that!

I remember it like it was yesterday. A sweet victory in that dump that shut them up. That terrace behind the goal was some place

Was it not something like our first win in the league there in about 9 years.

Rangers end was rammed !! :))

After the goal all my little crew splintered in every direction, it must have been 10 minutes till the regroup, proper limbs that day.

As fans we didn’t half celebrate back then, think it was the Rangers end at Hampden if we scored there was a cloud of dust that would rise from the gravel/grit/dirt below, always went home absolutely boggin.

Crackin goal and superb volley. He would have made it even better if he didn’t run away from the Rangers end , he should have ran towards our fans and celebrated.

Always used to wear old gear to Hampden for that very reason.

Remember that day well,
1, couldn't believe big Alex scored that belter,
2, me and my mate laughing as we were being chased by a gang of the unwashed along Argyll St,
Took shelter in sloans at got pished, a good day,

The 'limbs' as they're now known in the Rangers end at the old piggery looked absolutely unreal. Was just about before my time, but I used to spend hours as a wee boy watching the videos and rewinding it to see the celebrations.

The 4-2 game in 1994 was my favourite.

We got complimentary tickets of Alan Sneddon ,Rangers fan who signed for them from Larkhall,6 of us in Celtic end of front main stand, didn't even get to half time two or three of the cunts got sore faces and we got escorted round to Rangers End .

Was only ever in their main stand in Souness first season just at the barrier between both sets of fans but actually in the filth side in mixed company
Was getting absolute dogs abuse from bears until we scored and i celebrated with them
Sure was a different experience being at the barrier and many blows were traded either wayB-)

What's a 'hitch kick'?
Never heard that in my puff

Unless I'm hearing wrong that's what the commentary says about McAdam first attempt

Great celebrations for a great goal. Was always absolute bedlam and delirium in that terracing when we scored. This one also sticks in the mind. Total chaos when Derek stuck this away. Can recall him bearing down on the goal then insanity.

It's obvious to state it, but some of the youngsters grabbing each other in delight at Alex Miller's winner at the front of the Rangers End will be in their 50's now, the older ones further back, in their 60's (myself included).

Although I still greet every Rangers goal with equal joy, needless to say these days I do so with a wee bit less physical enthusiasm!
:))

P..S.
I obviously watched the highlights on Scotsport on the Sunday, the following week after the game went slowly waiting to see our goals again on Saint & Greavsie. The sight of our end exploding when Jim Bett equalised is one of the most glorious things I've ever seen.

Into my 7th decade and I'm still as crazy as ever when we score :eek:Maybe it's because of my balance problems I tend to fall over the seats now as opposed to rolling around the terracings as in the videos from back in the day :))

I knew I was getting old during the SCSF - when what I initially thought was Sakala’s goal went in, I went berserk and when I came off the ceiling, my wife handed me my blood pressure tablets:))
