Newspaper coverage of the jailing of Jim McCafferty, Celtic Boys Club

Can the Daily Rhecord not bring themselves to say Celtic?

How very sinister
On the day after a fourth Celtic paedophile is jailed for nearly 7 years after pleading guilty to abusing children for nearly 30 years: again, raising concerns that there was a paedophile ring operating at Celtic. One would imagine that the Herald would at least run a few lines on this outrage, wrong, they circle the wagons in full deflect mode to assist the Celtic PR and run more Rangers baaad articles. They even stoop to regurgitate the exact same story from 7 months ago by the well-known Rangers hater Martin Williams, using the same “sensationalist” headline, making sure to highlight “convicted criminal” “services provided” all to continue their practice, along with others such as the bigots in the SNP government to smear Rangers and marginalise the club. Outrageous

The Guardian has a story about a Crewe Alexandra (again) coach found guilty of grooming an underage girl.

These are the last six lines of the story ...
'In an unrelated case, the former Celtic kit man James McCafferty was jailed at the high court in Edinburgh for six years and nine months after he admitted a string of historic sexual offences against young boys.

The 73-year-old, of Lisburn, Northern Ireland, pleaded guilty to 11 charges related to paedophile activity against 10 victims, which took place over several decades.'

That's like the old 'Drop The Dead Donkey' skit, where the paper had to print a retraction of a story accusing the local vicar of being a vampire. Crossword - 7 down: Not a vampire.

There seems to be a genuine fear to use the word Celtic.
The Evening Times takes things to a new low though

Scotland is no longer a democratic country where truth and justice are important. This has been replaced with a political, media and justice system which has an agenda to protect Celtic and ensure votes over justice.

The OP is the same, celtic boys club.

This particular paedo is a former celtic coach + kit man.

Thread should be pulled for a mis-leading title :))

corporate criminality

the club / business are to blame

Why are they still open for business?

Why are they being allowed to play a game this week?

Why are people still attending and funding this organisation?

Are any of us surprised at this, we have seen this coming from a long distance, and a long time in regard to this subject, we have seen and heard them defend themselves and that rancid club of theirs, we have a govt. who ignore the victims and the family of the victims, and they will continue to ignore this, all in the name of politics.

I wouldn’t buy the rebel but a boy at work has just said the daily rebel has got it as their main headline online. The mother asking the government for a public inquiry? Let’s see how that goes. If we get the inquiry then things will start to happen.
