I live 4 and a half hours drive. Thinking about buying home end tickets - do you think this is wise.
My nearest team is Montpellier and it would appear that, if you stay away from the ‘ultra’ curve, it would be safe enough

Stay away from their ultras section (south stand according to Google). Don’t wear colours and don’t be a dick and you’ll be fine

I've been to Nice/Cannes about 6 times now.

We've stayed in Nice twice. The city is nice south of the train station. North of the station into some of the "schemes" it's a bit of a ghetto and while there one year I watched a programme on telly about how lone officers were not allowed to drive into some areas!

But the city itself is lovely, plenty squares and courtyards, good promenade, decent old town. Loads of places for good food and drink.

Yes. Saint Augustin is nearest airport and Riquier is up past old town.

There's a tram service and the airport buses are frequent too. Really good public transport actually.

Beautiful town. As is Eze Village up there in the mountains too. Looks down on Cap Ferrat/ Nice.
Worth a taxi up there for a drink/food. Stunning views down.
